10. Brian Burns to win Defensive Player of the Year (+12500, or 125-1)
This is one where I had to look up the odds about 12 different times to make sure I wasn’t missing something. There are currently 47(!) players with better odds for this award. Has no one watched Brian Burns play football?

He had 7.5 sacks and 16 QB hits as a rookie before bumping up to nine sacks and 21 QB hits last year. That was on a defense that couldn’t cover anyone. The advanced stats love Burns. ESPN tracks pass rush win rate, which measures how often a defender produces pressure within 2.5 seconds of the snap. Burns ranked fourth among edge defenders last year, ahead of guys like Joey Bosa and Chase Young. The film is impressive too. Burns has elite athleticism and an impressive arsenal of pass-rush moves.

At 23 years old, he’s primed for a monster season and could easily lead the league in sacks. Should Donald win Defensive Player of the Year every season? Probably. But if he doesn’t, Burns at these odds is the best bet.

Odds aren't that good on bovada, believe its 35-1. 

 

However I did sprinkle a little on him being the sacks leader, him being defensive MVP, and here's a juicy one that likely won't hit TMJ offensive rookie of the year at 88-1. Yes I realize one of those QBs is probably winning it but 88 is too perfect

It was 100-1 if you were paying attention a couple of months earlier. Must have taken some big bets on it already.

It's certainly possible if the percentage of his QB hurries that become sacks jumps up. If you look at those advanced stats, he's right on the door step of video game numbers.

You have to scroll down a lot to find Burns, but I still see some at +12500 -- MGM and "partycasino"

 

I'm not much of a gambler so no idea about this site's accuracy but seems legit and updated recently.

I can totally see him getting 15 sacks this year.  Him and Reddick are going to wreak havoc on opposing offenses this year.  Burns would have had a lot more sacks last season if our secondary was not complete trash.  Jaycee and Bouye should go a long way towards fixing that (well, when AJ gets back from his suspension that is.)

I’m betting on him. Bought a 1/1 autographed rookie card of his for $65 a few months ago. 
 

Hopefully it ends up a huge profit down the road, unlike all these Beason and D Will auto cards I’m sitting on smh…

Burns admitted that he goes for strip sacks too much so I can’t wait to see how his focus on disruption works this year…especially with other pass rushers to take off double teams on him.

Even if he has a probowl season... the Panthers need team success to elevate his status. That is an award voted on by media... they don't pay attention to losers.
