For all the attention that Brady and Rhule get, I think Snow is very underrated as a defensive coordinator.  He was almost perfect with his play-calling yesterday.  His blitzes were very timely for the most part, except for the 4th down conversion where I think we could have just used the front four pressure and let our guys cover downfield.

yeah that down 4th down blitz was the only piece i thought was too aggressive. Other than that... perfect game called.

This defense is going to be special this year, imo. If we can lock down with the DBs and give just a few more seconds we may break the record for most sacks by a team this year.

Good news is I don’t think he’s going anywhere either. He and Rhule are attached at the hip and he’s 65 so not many teams are going to invest time into a 65 year old dude with no HC experience. Looks like he’s ours until he retires or we fire Rhule.

Our defense was timid last year, old lady-like at times.

Yesterday, they did great for the first half and then were fair the second half.

I'm going to need more than this to say that he can hold his own in this league.

Everyone poo on him last year when we had subpar talent on D while they praised Brady and constantly worried about him being poached.

If the offense runs hot and cold like it did yesterday, we are going to have to lean on our defense as we always have.  Some things never change...

I said it last year. I honestly thought Snow would prove to be in over his head at the NFL level but he impressed me working with what he had last year. A little over a year later and I'm actually wondering if he isn't the secret weapon to Rhule's success. He's been Rhule's DC at every stop and Rhule's teams have always been driven by great defense and decent offense. Phil Snow might be the actual brains behind the operation while Rhule is the rah rah guy and face of the operation.
