I said it last year. I honestly thought Snow would prove to be in over his head at the NFL level but he impressed me working with what he had last year. A little over a year later and I'm actually wondering if he isn't the secret weapon to Rhule's success. He's been Rhule's DC at every stop and Rhule's teams have always been driven by great defense and decent offense. Phil Snow might be the actual brains behind the operation while Rhule is the rah rah guy and face of the operation.

I think you're onto something.  Rhule definitely comes off as more of a motivator, while Snow is an X's an O's guy.

This wouldn't shock me, even though I was scared to death of him at first to be honest.  Don't think many HC's can translate...even fewer DC's...but here we are.

Good news is I don’t think he’s going anywhere either. He and Rhule are attached at the hip and he’s 65 so not many teams are going to invest time into a 65 year old dude with no HC experience. Looks like he’s ours until he retires or we fire Rhule.

He doesn't want to go anywhere.  He's happy right where he is.  He goes as Rhule goes.

The lack of talent in the secondary last year really handcuffed Snow.

Drafting Jaycee really allows Snow to open up his bag and do different things scheme wise.

This is still only year 2 of a complete rebuild. Many of you need to relax and remember that. In just 1 year they’ve essentially rebuilt an entire defense. Had our offense been able to hang onto the ball yesterday, the defense pitches a shutout

I'm not making any judgements off the Jets game.  If you had average defensive talent....your defense should of shined yesterday.   Horrible OL, rookie QB in his first start.

We won't really have a clue about this defense until starting with the Saints game.

For all the attention that Brady and Rhule get, I think Snow is very underrated as a defensive coordinator.  He was almost perfect with his play-calling yesterday.  His blitzes were very timely for the most part, except for the 4th down conversion where I think we could have just used the front four pressure and let our guys cover downfield.

Put it this way - you can tell which of our Co-ordinators has been coaching for 40 years and which one has been coaching for 4 years....
