A.J. Bouye

Quick question as A.J. Bouye is set to come back on this defense. What impact do you expect him to have?

Does our defense get even better? What are your expectations? Let me hear it.

He certainly won't make it worse.

He's a very good veteran corner who's going to play mostly in the nickle/dime against the slot. While we've had some admirable play from others in his absence, he's only going to make the defense better imo.

Is Bouye better than our third best CB?  If the answer is yes, this is nothing but positive for our team.  I am not sure, but on paper it seems like he probably is.

i like it, i dont think hes probably the same type of leader as Peanut Tillman was, but I like having him with our two young corners.

The reputation is good. Living up to it will see him on the field. If he doesn't quite reach the mark, he may find himself with stiff competition to hold down the spot. 

Our pass coverage across the board has grown by leaps and bounds already over the last two games.

Huge upgrade for the secondary to lock down that slot position. Can't wait for his debut.

For those that didn't notice this, Jaycee played several snaps in the nickel position, not sure if it was due to man assignment, or keep Melvin on the perimeter with Jackson in zone. 

Either way having Bouye back, allows us to feature our FULL compliment of secondary starters at the cornerback position. 

I fully expect the coverage to improve, and facing a back up QB, on what is likely to be a bad team overall is a good point to return. 

I want to keep seeing us beat the teams we should beat, if it's not a playoff QB on the teams we face, I feel like our roster overall is as good, or better than most.

It's also nice to know we have some solid depth that we can rely on.

To add, Bouye is the nickel, his return won't impact Jackson, this was a point of emphasis in some of the coach press conferences. 

Now will we see him inside / outside sure, and it will be game-plan specific I'd imagine, just like we saw Jaycee in the slot vs NO.

not gonna start a new thread for this because I don't have a link so I'll put it here.  Saw this on another board.

"Horn has only been targeted 5 times and has only allowed 2 receptions for 18 yards through his first 2 games."

Rookie is already close to a shutdown corner.

We should be a lot better considering nickel supposed to be our weakness with Bouye out and injuries. Unless Bouye has regressed a lot we should be great.
