Dave Gettleman, Ronald Rivera and Marty Hurney are 1-6

The Giants are a COMPLETE mess. Dave G Bup Bup Bup one quarter is better than two nickles has that team in complete disarray

Adding injury to insult Joe Judge looks like a dud. He was the Giants backup choice when Mr. Teppah would not leave Waco without Rhule's agreement

Ronald is Ronald. He really wanted to roll this season with a career journeyman flash in the pan with Fitzpatrick. He and Hurney are going nowhere FAST.

It's clear to me that this team under Cam/Luke/TD/Olsen won inspite of these guys, not because of them. Imagine what this coaching staff would have done with a prime Came, Luke, TD, Kalil, Olsen

Tepper and Rhule have grown on me but I'm now more convinced of this 'plan' to build a sustainable winning organization. Add Fitterer to the mix and the future is bright for Carolina

Three complaints I have with this post:

  • 1-5
  • The Giants wouldn't match Tepper's offer for Rhule - Rhule certainly called them (or his agent did) and asked
  • Fitzgerald is in year 15. He's not a great starter in the league, but he's hardly a flash-in-the-pan. I'd laugh more at them thinking Taylor H and Allen are viable backups

Meanwhile in Buffalo, Brandon and Sean are crushing.

McDermott knew Rivera's philosophy defensively.  If and I mean big IF, Rivera has the players on his defense he might have a top 5 defense.  McDermott knows how to dismantle Rivera's defense.

I like Rivera a lot but his defense is not build to beat highly potent offenses.  Very clear to me.

As far as Marty and G Man are concerned, they may have had their occasional moments of clarity, but neither GM had the ability to build a roster capable of posting back to back winning seasons.  No one here should miss them.

Rhule and Fitterer are light years ahead of the dinosaurs the Panthers employed for the last several decades.  I appreciate Tepper as well for recognizing Matt's talent, doing what was needed to hire him and then stepping back and letting his management team do their jobs.

While it is still early in the process, the Panthers future looks brighter than it has in years.

    • I think you know. Apparently winning is secondary to Bryce’s development. Same as it has been.     In a way it may be good because we didn’t need to make the playoffs and extend this fuging charade about Bryce being the guy. Better in the long run if he gets enough rope to hang himself with.
    • Dave Canales is not the problem. He just isn't
    • I know DC is overthinking this and he really needs to be OC or HC, but how do you call plays with a QB that in all reality, shouldn't be starting. Bryce is wildly inconsistent. He should lean on Rico and the run game, but if he does and wins, it presents a false narrative that Bryce is better than he is and he's potentially stuck with him for another season. If he doesn't, he looks incompetent as a play caller, but it exposes the ugly side of his QB situation that he really does need a QB that can execute at minimum a basic NFL offense with some decent consistency.  I feel a little sorry for the guy because he was anchored with Young this season and even more weight with Dalton getting a 2 year deal. He has very little to work with at the most important position on his team and it's not his doing. The trade deadline was approaching and it was plainly obvious we needed to do something but we didn't for whatever reason.  I don't think he's a complete bonehead and don't know what he's supposed to do. Win games and potentially keep Bryce or lose them by putting the weight on Bryce's shoulders. Either he succeeds or fails.  As a coach I know you're supposed to play to win the game, but do you win now at the ultimate long term detriment to your team and locker room?
