Rhule has mentioned the possibility of starting Christensen or Scott on the left, but also didn't rule out moving Taylor Moton.

This is my only real frustration about the staff this season. Moton at LT and Christensen at RT always felt like our best OT tandem. I can't help but feel like if we had rolled with that tandem at OT and Brown at RG since opening day we'd be on the cusp of fielding a decent OL at this point as everyone gelled and adjusted to the NFL.

Them not being high on Slater playing tackle and overpaying Elf and Erving on the first day of free agency might prove they aren't the best at judging Oline talent. Tremble, Marshall, and Chuba vs whoever else they could possibly have drafted is one of those things that will take at least a season or more to determine. They're all just rookies getting ready to play their 5th games after all.

And yeah, they can't rebuild the team in 2 years. They still could have broke ranks from what the previous regime did and put some cheap, young talent in the Oline instead of so much on the defense. They just have different priorities. 🤷‍♂️

Erving and Elf’s contract scream stop gap starters. They know they aren’t the answer, but there weren’t many other options. Slater looks like a miss, but the jury is still out on him. We obviously value CB very highly (maybe too high) and Horn’s athletic ability is off the chart. They wanted a “can’t miss” prospect at 8 and Sewell and Horn were the top options. Slater was moved around the line throughout his college career and had one really good season at LT. Hindsight is 20/20 and if we knew we could get Henderson and Gilmore for next to nothing and Slater was going to start off so well, we might have drafted Slater over Horn. Then you have to wonder if we win our first three games with DJax and no one else at CB…

You know i noticed that since the game Sunday nobody has pointed out the fact that Darnold actually had to go under the tent for injury concerns during the game. Its only a matter of time at the rate we are going. Better hope changes are being made this week.

It wasn't injury related, his jersey was partially ripped. But yeah, still happened due to the line playing like poo

That’s a hell of a statement to make to your locker room.

Yep..when I heard this and others today…probably makes members of that unit not too motivated. I read a d heard a couple are playing through injuries

they draft two…play them

of course cmc’s return, due to his quickness makes them look better…until the next time

He also said no one was interested, not even for backups.  Keep this in mind during the off season.  FAs will get paid, OL will go early and often in the draft.

On the Walter football list Miller and Elf were literally in the top 5-10 FA's realistically available. Probably should have just kept Chris Reed at the vet minimum

    • I'll be honest.  I'm not sure I want to see any those guys returning right now given what others are presently doing.... minus Coker.  Hubbard returning likely messes the run game up (I mean, it's going to come down regardless but he still), Tremble and Evans actually are doing well, Corbett seems to make us worse up front, and the D has made some strides.  I'd like to just keep that whole lot on the shelf this week.
    • I don't think people know that Icky is still only 25 years old. Panthers signed UDFAs older this year and drafted DJ Johnson. Heres a fact, a deep fact.... Its easier(much) to find a good-great QB than good-great LT. Another fact there's only 12-15 true LTs and the others are larping as LT.  SO....(I'm not a fan btw)......you nearly must resign him at all cost even with him being around the 12th best at times. Its the hardest spot to fill and he's still awful young with 4 years as a pro. Carolina already got 4 years of "cheap" service as well, that's invested time and effort.  The fan-side of me hopes he signs some top 5 at best top 3 big money deal. Just the cap keeps growing and LTs, young LT with experience are rrrrrrare and unique. Tag him if needed and tag him again, then trade him. I think he enjoys being/living in NC.  I hope he's stays on a team friendly deal, but those are soooo rare these days.  Only two options- pay him whatever, even if it's top $$$$$(uggggghhhh..) or tag him for 2027 and keep trying to pay. Worst outcome is trading him for couple 1s, 3s, and 5th maybe a player too.
    • I always loved DJ Moore.  I don't see him wanting to comeback here.  He seems to be tired of inconsistent QB play and you finally see that bubbling over in Chicago.  or maybe he just doesn't like the people.  He actually seemed fine with Fields.....and lobbied for them not to draft Caleb.  So maybe it's just a Caleb issue (and I think Caleb might have tons of baggage/issues that rub folks wrong)
