Rapoport believes Watson will be traded before the deadline

“According to personal conduct policy, in the latest version, a player can be placed on the commissioner’s exempt list if he is charged with a felony or a violent crime,” Rapoport said. “As of right now, that does not apply to Deshaun Watson. I have not heard that he is going to be placed on the commissioner’s exempt list, even if someone trades for him, even if his legal situation is unsettled. Barring some sort of unexpected development, I would expect him to be eligible to play.”

I can just tell as it's written in Carolina Panthers DNA that we'll trade for him and plan to play him and the NFL will immediately put him on the Commissioner's Exempt List.

Ian Rappaport said this morning that they have no plans of putting him on the Exempt List.  So......GIDDYUP!

If we give up something like 3 firsts and Burns and then he gets put on the exempt list, this place will literally explode.

This is worst case scenario. Hopefully it’s a pick or two and one or two players we can afford to give up. Jackson, YGM, hell even CMC at this point.

This season would be hard to save at this point. Trade for Watson, sit him for the whole year, and get the line fixed up for him to be under center 2022.

This would be a long term move for a 25 year old elite qb. This season doesn’t matter long term. It’s what happens if he’s still on the exempt list the following season. You gotta think the org has talked to the league and also legal counsel if they’re willing to give up that much draft capital and players for one guy only for him to be banned from the league. If they didn’t and are just winging it then this will be a disaster of epic proportions. I just don’t see us doing that unless we’ve had clarity.

And we’ll have a franchise QB for the next 10 years lmao what is the problem here? We’ve had exactly 1 legitimate franchise QB in the 27 years weve played

And no draft capital to build with and one of the youngest on top of losing one of the youngest and best defensive players in the league, all for a dude who’s not even guaranteed to play. The rose colored glasses some of you have on is absolutely insane.
