The Panthers owe the fans an explanation why Sam Darnold was the only potential starting QB on the roster this season.

Why wasn't a veteran QB signed along with Darnold? Or why wasn't a rookie QB drafted?

The chances Darnold failed were extremely high, and PJ Walker is terrible and Will Grier is probably terrible but he's not here anymore for us to find out.

How was handing over the keys to the franchise to a QB you dumpster-dove off a bad Jets team the ONLY STARTING OPTION for this team?

No they don't and I'm about sick of this topic. We focused our energy on defense the past couple of off seasons. They knew they didn't have an offensive line. The only real QB options to trade for were Darnold and Matt Stafford. We had a trade for Stafford but he wanted to be in LA. I promise you we would have gotten Watson had it not been for his legal battles. No real other options besides Darnold. I thought it was a smart move to to see what he has for a year or 2. No QB is doing anything behind this Oline anyways so why bring in more guys. Might as well see what we have. He looked great the first 3 games but no QB in the league can survive this Oline with no CMC. Not a single one. I think we are playing in smart and will fix the offensive problems next offseason. Im so sick of the drama queens on here that think they know how to run and NFL team.

Er he wasn't.

They failed to get Stafford and Watson due to obvious

They obviously didn't have him as their first choice wtf is so hard to understand about this.

maybe they can explain why they added CJ, Gilmore, etc.....and not someone like Menshew then.  In on every deal, right?

LOL. You really need to step away and take a break from the Huddle for a bit. You're losing your mind.

Well Menshew isn't even starting in Philly where Hurts can't even throw the ball forward unless he's playing the Panthers 🤷‍♂️

Looking at what Menshew has put up it's baffling all around really because he seems like he has potential and can't land a starting gig.

No they don't. Just put the dots together. We were all in on Sam Darnold because we believed that he would he a competent QB and an upgrade over Teddy. The fact that we've targeted Teddy and Darnold as our QBs of choice tells you everything you need to know about these guys' ability to evaluate NFL QBs and might be why we're all in on a proven commodity in Watson now. We sure as hell don't want these guys identifying another "prospect".

    • I'm gonna be a grandpa!  My 2 year old son sat on my lap Panther's inaugural season in Clemson.  Die hard fans ever since.  Now he's going to be a daddy and sharing the fan tradition with a custom made shirt.  Check out the little fella in the sonogram (look closely).
    • Watch out now...... I agree but many others disagree with this line of thinking.  I seen a recent summary too- Which would you rather have the best safety or the 8th best edge? Best safety maybe kyle hamilton, the 8th best edge is Maxx Crosby. Id take maxx even with Myles or TJ on the roster. Plus if you don't like Maxx as 8th best, Id take whoever the 8th best edge is over the Kyle.  Panthers need a starter level edge, the only realistic shot is using the 1st rounder. But if somehow a stud LT pulls out a gas mask and falls to 19, draft them if much higher ranked.  The funny deal is those teams drafting in the late portion of drafts don't need edge, QB, WR, or OT..... I wonder why?!??? hmmmmmmm.... plus it pays off for them, cause they do need OG, ILB, TE, safety..... and now they get a top level player to remain great....
    • Wrong conclusion. FOs should look at this and say “What can I do to better set up my top pick to succeed?” Not say welp I guess I just shouldn’t draft the most talented player at the most important position. It’s like saying the Cavaliers shouldn’t have drafted Lebron because they did a poor job building around him and he didn’t start winning championships until he left. It’s silly. Should teams also look and say “wow look at all these super bowls won by QBs drafted in the 5th round, guess that’s the best round to draft a QB.” Nonsense.
