Then I’m sure we could find somebody who would part with a 3rd or 4th for him and his contract. It doesn’t make sense to release this guy and allow him to pick where he goes and make us look foolish.

He’s not worth a 3rd or 4th given the size of his contract and fact he can not stay on field

You have to convince a team he is worth the 8M guaranteed base salary he has for next year. Since the Panthers would eat 18M in dead cap, he’s not a huge risk to a team that acquires him. They could walk away for nothing after 2022. Maybe someone takes a chance. I just wouldn’t expect much.

NFL = Not For Long.

That's what it meant 50 years ago, it still means the same today. Stop blaming the franchise that it is part of the most brutal sport of modern day.

In another 50 years, the league won't even exist because our society won't even let people voluntarily sign up.

We all get that. Yet look around the league. Find me another team that lost that level of talent to career derailing injuries in this timeframe. We're not losing "good players". We're losing the absolute best players on our team. Guys who are among the very best in the league at their positions. HOF caliber talents. During their prime.

Cam I agree was on the coaches, Luke was just a string of bad luck.  Nothing the front office or the coaches could have done to stop his brain from being scrambled.

In regards to cmac they gave him over 700 motherfuging touches in 2 wasted years for some God knows reason.  In then in turn for all of those touches they gave him a totally unnecessary deal to reward him when every metric in the world said that was a bad idea.  So yeah that is 100% on the staff and FO.

And your boy had a good game last night.  I only saw the second half.  Still dont want him in the first.

To me it's mind blowing the caliber of player we've lost to injury and otherwise shortened an amazing career.  I'll give them that Kuechly was probably not preventable.  He played the way he played.

But Cam was 100% on the staff.  I don't care that Cam "seems to take his biggest hits in the pocket" (still a problem) or that "he's big enough to take it".  You don't run your MVP QB in a power scheme at the volume we did it.  That's on them.

I'm not sure what to make of CMC.  There were no signs prior to last year that he would have these issues.  A lot of folks cite his volume of touches, but when you look at it objectively, Barry Sanders had similar numbers of touches.

It does sometimes seem like we're a little snakebit when it comes to injuries.  Even in 2015, who is to say what might have been without all the injuries.

Nobody is trading a first for cmc regardless if he comes back next year and plays 17 games. We are one of the few nfl teams that still drafts rbs in the top 10. The other team off the top of my head is the giants and look at Barkley. We are a poorly run franchise. Nfl teams do not value rbs like that. Add in injury history and we would be  lucky to get a 2nd from a team.

You forgot the Cowboys

It's unfortunate. The cowboys lost aikman. Irving.

It's not common place but it still happens, and it falls under the same NOT FOR LONG.

Is it frustrating? Sure it is. But it's still the nature of the game.

He’s definitely not playing immediately the week he comes off IR. Probably the week after that. Really, who the hell knows ? I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t play another down this season.

I'm pretty sure that's the case. He's gotten to the point in his career where he's probably only good for 3 games a year.
