He expressed a total commitment to coaching at Baylor just a little before taking the Panthers job (signed an extension too if I remember correctly).

He expresses total confidence in a lot of things before they go the other way

i don’t think he’s going anywhere

but I’d watch Oklahoma

I could see Daboll....and I could see him bringing Ken Dorsey to be OC. Obviously Daboll would still be involved, and Dorsey already knows the system. Maybe hire a veteran NFL DC

Dorsey or Brian Schottenheimer would be OC options.

DC? He could get Patrick Graham, Bob Babich or Ed Donatell. Could also conceivably get Mike Zimmer if the Vikes fire him (he's worked with Zimmer's son Adam before).

Sup Scot, I was curious if still feel the 2015 team would not beat this 2021 team....like Thomas Davis said they were more talented as well. Do you want to change that opinion more given more games have been played or doubled down?

I don't honestly remember the discussion.

I would say right now that while this team certainly has talent in spots (this year's receiver group would definitely trump the 2015 bunch) the coaching staff is...deficient.

Rhule has proven he’s a superior college coach rather than a pro coach so I’d be great with that.

Better college coach than pro coach...yeah.

I still question how great a college coach he really is though. I can't recall his teams being all that great against bigger schools or winning bunch of bowl games.

    • I mean, you see the games on the first page right? 167, 235, 171, 121, 103 etc etc. Am I a tad small? I guess if we are needing perfection, but hey this is a BY thread....... Id say in the majority he does have around 100 yards for 55 minutes, does that help? Just like the numbers they reflect hes playd very poor in nearly 85% of those game leading into the final minutes. I will also give this, he could had more GWDs if not for the defense choking.  I feel this is sooooo very clear to people that watch the games. Even the pure only 100% BY fans or his relatives should be able to see this as well.

    • you always push in to the weird position of defending people I dont really like, but you don’t know any employee is a bad fit until it plays out. A lot of folks here were excited when Rhule was hired. He’s clearly good at selling himself, he keeps landing head‑coaching jobs. We also don’t know that Tepper was the driving force behind picking Bryce. The general feeling at the time is that he was the best player, The Teppers part is mostly rumor we’ve treated like fact. And it was 3–4 years ago. Most of us have changed our minds on Bryce like ten times since. Lastly I don’t think he’s calling the shots anymore. He seems looped in, not leading. I worked for the Panthers for about eight months, and I almost never saw him in the office. Dan Morgan and Brandt were there every day. That’s anecdotal, not proof but it suggests Dan is doing most of the work. if you asked me today if the Panthers are going to pay Bryce, I dont see it. He has not played well enough to heavily invest in him.
