Jerry Richardson knew you didn't have to win it all, just some.

Richardson - more than happy and willing to go 7-9 and 8-8 every year. Make sure we are accommodating to drunken moron visiting fans and PSL owners who pull for the Pats or Steelers on Sunday. Also need to make sure the NDA slush fund is full so he can buy his way out of racist and sexual misconduct.

Tepper has a long way to go before he is even close to Jean Friday Jerry.

People are willing to put up with more and more bullshit the more and more you win. Michael Jordan is the ultimate champion but I shouldn’t even need to mention his off court shenanigans.

Trying to compare the two is like apples and oranges. Dave is more hands off than you are led to believe.

This is an era that no matter how good your roster is in general you have to have franchise QB. Dave knows this and that’s why he wanted Fields…why he wanted Watson…we had good times with a franchise qb but it was never consistent under Richardson.

Pegulas took time to get their poo in order too and they owned a sports team before hand as well.

The narrative building here is funny

Be sure to bump these shitty ass threads when the Panthers find/develop a top 10 QB and we are winning again

You are out of your mind if you think any owner/coach combo can win with the QB's we have had. Kraft/Belichick literally had this version of Cam last year and were a losing team (and we have worse)

Literally nothing matters until we get a good QB

(By the way, Denver sucks just as bad with Bridgewater)

Have you heard that batshit crazy conspiracy theory that Jordan’s dad was “whacked” by the Russian mafia because of gambling debts and that the reason he played baseball for a year was because Stern was going to suspend him for that season.

Of course I have that is one of sports greatest conspiracy theories. Jordan was hungover for the "flu" game but that one isn't a conspiracy.

Panthers went to the NFC championship in Richardson’s second season as an owner and a Super Bowl within moments of a championship in 9 seasons. Go ahead and sneeze at the past regime all you want but right now this owner has turned this team into a miserable dumpster fire. At least under Richardson there were gasps of relevancy.

Yup, so far after 4yrs straight of losing seasons. No comparison. One guy knows stocks. The other guy was part of the NFL fraternity and actually knew football.

The learning curve for Tepper is showing. It was Richardson's soul mission to put an NFL team here.

3NFC championships

2 Superbowls

You are correct, nothing to belittle or sneeze at. It took KC 50yrs to get back to the Superbowl. Richardson did a great job. Proof is in the pudding.

    • Plus he was in the era in which Safety, LBs, and CBs could de-cleat WRs/TEs on crossing routes. He was beyond tough too. Plus those numbers his 4.66 40 time etc....... GameDay with 15 LBs of pads/clothes/tape, he was the fastest guy on the field. In fact I never recall at any point Rice being ran down or "hawked" from behind by any player. He was a gamer and clutch, just like lex Lugar the total package.
    • Not all talent can be measured with a ruler and stopwatch. His hands, body control, and skills were ELITE.
    • He did have talent, but if you look at his combine/workout numbers...they are not eye popping like many of the combine freaks are. All the best have talent, smarts, and work ethic. What he was able to do in his 40s, he holds all the records after 40. He had two 1k seasons at 39 and 40, no other WR has 1k after 36. He came back from a ACL tear within 9 months after he turned 35 years old. You know this is the era where ACl was a career derail-er and it took most mortal men took a full 12 months and they were never the same. Only two other players have made catches at that age (40) and neither one was a wide receiver. LOL at Tom being one of them....   I also read or heard, he would have still played if not for ST. He was going to play for the broncos in 2006, I think he would have been 44???, he earned a spot as the #4-6 but the numbers game of having WRs play ST ended his career. He could still get open and play, just no sense in having the GOAT run head first into a wedge on KO duties.....
