Your arms are at their weakest fully extended anyway.

Besides, arms a yard long won't help if you have feet of cinderblocks and no ability to out think the pass rusher. Please see Daley, et al.

And technique is king above all -- and that's where coaches come in.

Oh yeah, coaching.

That’s the thing, Rhule is always saying a LT’s arms are going to be fully extended. That’s why that extra inch and a quarter “matters”, because maybe they won’t be “fully” extended. But an LT with none of the other assets mentioned is going to get beat every single time.

It’s not a perfect world for LT’s, just sticking your arms out every play and moving a little to the left aren’t gonna defend these highly skilled DE/EDGE OLB’s.

Hell, let’s give Rhule the benefit of the doubt, Maybe Christensen isn’t ready to start at LT this year, needs to perfect the scheme and technique for a while longer. Than say that, don’t just say, “OMG his arms are too short”.

Rhule dumb as fug. Remember when we tried playing Kuechly as WLB for his first couple of games? Then the staff said nah he's a MLB for sure and moved him? Rhule would have left him to be WLB because he's dumber than rocks. 0 IQ coach.

probably why he retired.

    • I already said things like speed and athleticism you either have it or don't. Like Tet's size and wingspeed. But a big knock on  Tet was that he didn't play as physically as you would expect given his size and strength. In fact he struggled against press coverage and couldn't get separation off the line or off the top of his break which is why he has so many contested catches to begin with. He was not great taking balls away like a Mike Evans was and would struggle against physical corners in the NFL. But he has what you can't coach. That is why we drafted him. What he lacks can be taught.  Legette has good size and speed. He actually could get separation but couldn't catch the ball using poor technique. Once again those skills can be taught. Both Legette and Tet have great physical skills and will complement each other. They are clearly different but I don't share your belief that their deficits can't be coached or remediated. One question with both of them will be their willingness to be physical in the run game and play with aggression.
    • This might be my favorite quote from game 1.    "the Hurricanes seem to have it for stretches long enough that you could get up out of your seat, wait in line for popcorn, hit the restroom and get back to the stands — and not miss a Capitals appearance in the offensive zone."   Washington post
    • Its not blind faith, we just aren't jaded and can see that he provides something needed that isn't on this team. Like it or not, he is our only deep threat, jump ball guy, Tmac isn't that yet. He is the fastest and biggest reciever we have.  He is really good at getting position on CBs and he also blocks downfield.  Tmac is going to take adams role and get the most targets, Coker will be third and we better hope Theilen is 4th or 5th.
