Dan Quinn

Was thinking earlier. I know there are a lot of IFs here. Rhule would have to get fired first. Dan Quinn wouldn’t be my first choice or a choice at all for me. But I could see him being a Tepper guy. He’s familiar with the NFC South, would have connections with Fitterer from Seattle, and always had somewhat of a nose for analytics.

Do you think he got a fair shake in Atlanta? I personally always thought he was overrated.

EDIT: NOT ENDORSING DAN QUINN, JUST TALKING ABOUT HIS POSSIBLE CONNECTIONS AND HOW THE FRONT OFFICE WOULD VIEW HIM.

Please don’t stab me

Quinn had an ace QB, a HoF receiver, decent running game, fair to better line work, a defense that was at least a decent speed bump.

He couldn't compete in the NFCSouth and against the rest of the league. His team just basically quit on him.

He's an excellent DC. That's a very valuable thing. He should stay at that level and just be great.

Quinn was a great DC in Seattle.  Wouldn't have an issue with him holding the same title in Carolina.

Not interested as a HC.

Quinn is a younger Rivera.  And if you look at the amount of losing seasons, Quinn is actually better than Rivera.  2 out of 5 for Quinn, 7 out of 10 for Rivera.  If you count Ron going 5-7 before getting fired then it’s 8 losing seasons out of 11.  I think Quinn deserves another shot somewhere but I don’t want him here

    • Joe Person   @josephperson · 16m     Panthers become the 1st team this yr with 5 weekly winners: Rico Dowdle, Ryan Fitzgerald, Sam Martin, Tre'von Moehrig and Bryce. Panthers last did that in 2017: Cam Newton, Julius Peppers, Luke Kuechly, Jonathan Stewart and Damiere Byrd.
    • Gotta wonder if Smitty's brain has turned to mush with how hard he played in the NFL
    • OK, fair enough--however, since my point was that drafting a QB in the top 10 is stupid, if you consider the players who were not drafted in the top 10 or those who WERE drafted in the top 10 and did not secure starting positions with the team that drafted them, you should see the point.  Is it smart to draft a QB in the top 10 when only 4 are still starting for the team that drafted them.  Next, consider that half of that number, 2, were drafted outside the first round.  Next, there are 4 (Goff, Mayfield, Jones, and Darnold) who are starting on other teams after busting.   That number could increase as Arizona seems ready to move on from Murray, Miami is not sold on Tua, and jacksonville is still waiting for Trevor to start looking elite.  Bryce?   So to answer your question, there are MANY more QBs in the NFL who have busted and become starters on other rosters, were drafted after day 1, or are still on the cusp than the four who have become elite.  I thought that point was made.
