Watching the press conferences this week, Rhule doesn't seem like a guy who is worried about his job and is looking forward to next year.

I have to wonder if all those reports that Tepper was embarrassed was put out by his team as an attempt to motive Rhule and put the pressure on. I don't think he really has any intention of moving on this year. It's always been a 3 year plan from the beginning.

My concern is our 2022 offseason and how much of an impact Rhule/Fitts have had on it already and will continue to have between now and OTAs. No doubt if Rhule doesn't perform in '22, he will be out midseason.

That kind of instability gives me huge pause as we have a top-6 draft pick, no other picks until 105, awful positional coaches/schemes and some heavy decisions to make....

  • Re-sign Gilmore/DJax/Reddick/Moore?
  • Lots of vet QBs available that we need to stay away from because they will drain more assets: Wilson/Mayfield/Jimmy G/Watson

If I was an owner trying to turn a franchise around, I wouldn't bring Rhule back.

He's overwhelmed, letting his ego get in the way and his style has not translated over to the NFL. One more awful offseason will set this team back 3-4 years.

No we’ll keep him for another year. If Tepper fired Rivera before the season ended there’s no way he would let Rhule finish a season if he was going to fire him.

I think there's a key difference between Rivera and Rhule and that is that Rivera wasn't hired by Tepper, so there was no sense of needing to save his ego by keeping Rivera around longer than needed. Rhule was directly hired by Tepper, so Tepper might feel some sense of pride and ego in not admitting his own mistake.

I'm really not sure if Rhule returns or Not.

I think Tepper made a huge obligation to Rhule who promised to get things done right. That "process" would involve giving this staff time (3 years min?) to get things turned around. Its pretty obvious that things do not look good. Moving on from Teddy and the trades that were made mid-year would indicate a FO trying to win now and somewhat mortgaging the future....Its really confusing trying to figure out what the Heck this organization is trying to do.

I have never heard so many boo's and "Fire the Coach!" chants as I have heard from Rhule from the Fans. I'm sure Tepper didn't get much of that in regards to the staff in Pittsburgh when he was associated with that franchise.

I think that Tepper will fire Rhule on Black Monday. Fit may be safe. We will see.

So are we just throwing out everything he did in year one? Taking a dumpster team with 14 playera left from the last regime, building an elite defense, bringing in 12 sack Reddick and 1200 yard receiver Robby Anderson? Being competitive in every game with bum ass Bridgewater at QB. Trying to aggressively trade for a real franchise QB multiple times (Stafford, Watson), his #8 overall pick and our star player being out his entire tenure (thanks to Rivera running him into the ground? Are we gonna forget him turning 2-10 Temple (whose fans absolutely poo on him in year 2) to an 11 win team & Baylor, who had one won the year before to an 11 won team facing Oklahoma in the Big12 championship?

yeah lets just throw all that away and start the rebuild from year one…. Again

The "elite defense" is largely a mirage built on the backs of performances against struggling offenses and rookie QBs. Against good offensive teams like Tampa, Minnesota and Dallas, they look far from "elite".

Don’t think we need a rebuild we have a good stock of guys here. A few more pieces and competent staff will put us in the playoff race next season.

His biggest mistake besides hiring Rhule in the first place was giving him a 7 year deal. That gave Rhule the freedom to experiment without the pressure of feeling like he had to win right away. And now it’s tepper that looks impatient if he goes back on public statements that building a contnder doesn’t happen overnight. Tepper radically overestimated Rhule and radically underestimated the misery of consistent losing in the NFL. All due to arrogance.

If he’s still arrogant and overconfident, and I have no reason to believe that isn’t the case, he’s going to double down and keep the clown for another season.

    • Round 1. TMac arguably the best WR in the draft Round 2. Scour ton mentioned as a possible 1st round edge.     Texas A&M did not use him the same way Purdue did. After the 2023 season he was listed as a first round grade. I believe had Texas A&M used him like they did at Purdue he never makes it out of round 1. Round 3 Princely Umanmielen, we'll go by Princely.  Another highly graded player we got in a lower round. As the video suggests, even if he plays only on passing down it's a positive. Give him a couple of years to develop a he could be a three down player.  Round 4a Etienne IMO a huge upgrade over Blackshear. I can see him in a similar role as CMC without the heavy workload. He can run in between the tackles and has some shifty moves. Give Canales some flexibility. A fellow huddler pointed out UGA running backs don't see the field if they cannot pick up the blitz. Really good pick. Round 4b Ransom a hard hitting safety that has played three different positions on defense. Great pick Round 5a Cam Jackson a massive NT in round 5. I believe a solid rotational pick in a lower round. We added a beast that could make offenses quiver when he's lined up with Brown. Great Value  Round 5b Evans This is another player that can block and has good hands. He also had better seasons before 2024. As a rookie he's probably leaps and bounds better than Ian Thomas. I think he gives us a three headed monster at TE.  Round 6 Horn Jr. Many believe he's just going to be a KR/PR player. I believe there are going to be packages for him to get on the field as a WR. His speed with TMac and Thielen in the slot could be special. I'm really looking forward to seeing him in training camp. I've watched some film and he is very explosive.  Overall I love our picks. I honestly believe all of them will contribute this season. I don't believe we reached on one player in this draft.  This weekend we get a small look at these rookies
    • You joke, but hasn't basically the whole team been in Charlotte this past week together? I'm not one to see the random dumb stuff players put out on social media in the offseason and think it means that's ALL they've been doing and not working on their game.  But it's a little strange that all this is coming out at the same time we're seeing tons of stuff with the team in Charlotte together, even if it's just working out and not even official team OTA's or anything. So he gets a pass from me saying anything now, but if he doesn't show clear improvement this season, it then opens him up to some retroactive criticism for some things.
    • Ha-ha, I bet that went through everyone's mind.  Admittedly I don't read all the comments in a thread before I make a post. Great minds think alike!
