Wasn’t he the guy who got Luck killed by constantly calling deep shots with a terrible OL?  I feel like I’ve seen this movie before…

Pep’s not horrible.  I mean he is a legit OC vs what we had

But a guy that couldn’t get it done with Luck is just going to get fired again with Sam Darnold.

It’s basically what Rhule wants.  Pep is a power run guy at heart.  But for team that claims to be wanting to build from the ground up…..it looks like their goal is build into a .500 team.

Not a knock on him but why come here. Right now your QBs are Sam Darnold and PJ Walker. If we take a QB with the 6th we have no oline and Rhule may be out next year. It's just a bad situation to come to.

I’m hoping pep says no tbh. Let him roll with Nixon as his OC or maybe Tepper will fire him if he doesn’t get pep. Remember Rhule has to sell to these coaches more so than they have to for him because this is an absolute poo show right now and everyone knows it.

The Colts won their division 2 years in a row with Pep at OC and made it to the AFC championship game. He even called the plays in that AMAZING playoff game against the Chiefs where the Colts came back down 38-10.

They loss to the Patriots both years in the playoffs.

You gonna be mad if he gets Darnold killed?

I wouldn’t be mad, but even though Darnold sucks it’s not his fault he’s in this position.  He seems like a nice kid, he just blows as an NFL QB.  So I’d prefer not to see him get killed if possible.  If he gets hurt it’s just back to PJ Walker again

What kinda system does he run?

Not kidding:  A "no coast" offense.  The article called him a mutt,  basically referring to a hybrid offense.  He had Luck with no OL in Indy 5-6 years ago and they were decent.  Luck is now retired, however.

    • I know we're in the hopium phase of the year right now but this is all over the game film that every defense we face is going to be waiting for. If Bryce keeps doing this sooner or later we are going to be stuck arguing over why this or that receiver sucks because they can't bail out Bryce all the time. Legette would just be next in line. Bryce is a first overall pick. He's got to figure out how to get some more torque out of his arm. These yarns about his frame and this and that just seem like an excuse to justify him not wanting to lift weights. He's got to match the output of his offensive counterparts who have been putting in the work.
    • Well, if we'd sat Bryce then we'd have gone 17~0 on the way to Superb Owl win!  Of course right? Honestly, it's one of those Schrodinger's Cat situations.  There are an infinite number of possibilities that it could have been between: Worse and Better.   Dalton would have looked better.  We'd have won more games.  Reich would probably be going into year two with Scott Fitterer at GM.  Would we be a be a better team? We would have zero idea if Bryce was the dude, kind of where we are now.  Except Bryce would not have had as much adversity.  With QBs in the NFL, you don't have much time to evaluate.  You used to be able to sit guys for a year or two, but now a days, you are up and playing week 1. I think we'd be in worse shape honestly.  I like how things are going right now under D&D.  I am not sure Fitterer would have done any better in FA or the Draft or if Reich would have shown his coaching acumen any better in 2024. So instead of changing the past, we have to keep looking forward.  Learn the lessons from the past, but keep moving forward.
