Shouldn't be too complicated to use CMC like Deebo.  Sure Deebo is bigger and probably stronger, but we did it with Curtis Samuel last year.

CMC is better on the field in some capacity than off the field in none.

Reduce his wear and tear by using him less as a RB (as others have already suggested) and more as a receiver.

He might just make it till the end of his current contract contributing to the team's good fortunes rather than in a cast, sitting on his couch, watching the Panthers struggle without him.
