Honestly I would feel better if Tepper stepped in front of a microphone and explained why he felt Rhule deserves another year. Him saying nothing and moving on to his sacred soccer team pisses me off more than anything that transpired during our season.

When I think about this I can't help but be reminded of how often he sought out a microphone when the team had that very public falling out with Cam in early 2020. It was that mess that led us to Bridgewater and then to Darnold because the decision makers had to have an instant solution to validate the original mess. Bringing back Cam only brought it all full circle. My goodness you have to laugh to keep from crying.

Exactly. This desire to hear from him is driven in large part by how vocal and involved he was when this all started going down; the silence is a notable change that makes people wonder. If he had stayed in the background from the start (relatively speaking given his status as a new owner) or not commented on football matters then no one would be wondering why he's now quiet.

Yes, we are a bottom 5 team in the league currently. I just meant that the way were headed, we might be in Purgatory like the Detroit Lions,, Cleveland for decades .  Not just a couple of years.

...I'm afraid you are probably going to be right... I've been a closet Browns fan since the 70's and seen it all... We have all the makings of a perennial loser in motion.

I sure don't want the Panthers to move there.  But if some team did, that would be an awesome name !

The team could come out of the tunnel for each game behind 3 or 4 galloping Clydesdales.  What a sight that would be !

Mainly because the first anheiser Busch brewery was in st Louis. The stadium would still probably serve stale beer though.

    • Smitty is a legendary footballer player but this has really damaged his reputation as a person. You don’t cheat on a woman who has been with you through everything and gave you children and especially not with another man’s wife. He doesn’t even have any remorse about it, acting like nothing happened.
    • That's a big ass center! Is there any center in the NFL that weighs 320 lbs? Also, we drafted a center last season. Not sure this guy is a center even if he took reps at the senior bowl. Looks like a guard to me unless his build is better suited to a lesser weight. In a zone scheme centers need to be able to move quickly.
    • The majority of NFL draft picks don't play all too many snaps lined up directly across from another NFL player, and I don't think many people really realize this. Unless you play a game against one of the 2-4 schools that are putting half their lineup into the NFL each season, most teams who have multiple draft picks, MIGHT only have 2-4 draft picks in any given season. Some skill positions get around 30 players drafted each year, other positions are in the teens to low 20's.  With at least a handful of them coming from non power conference schools too.  So the odds for any WR or CB to get too many games lined up directly against another future draft pick is pretty low. The better odds are that they get lined up against a future NFL player, i.e. a junior or senior WR getting lined up against a freshman or sophomore DB who will get drafted in a couple of years. Then if you take it one step further and look for players who actually play in the NFL and make a difference.   You're basically looking at players drafted in the first 3 rounds of the draft, so a little less than 100 players a year, spread out across all the positions and conferences (which in today's massive conferences, teams have even lower odds of player the teams with more NFL players than ever before).
