I will say this…

The Vikes had one of the worst defenses in the league this year. 
 

Week 1, Dalvin Cook fumbles in OT.

Week 2, their kicker misses a chip shot for the win

Against Detroit, Dantzler gives up a 5 yard cushion in the 5 and watches a dude run a comeback route in front of him for the win. 

3 games that the Vikes had absolutely no business losing. They win these and they’re 11-6 and in the playoffs with a terrible defense. 
 

Cousins isn’t awful. He’s a good QB but yeah, he isn’t worth what he wants money wise. He isn’t going to win you a SB. So if Tepper is just trying to fill the stadium and sneak into the playoffs, Cousins makes sense. Come November/December if this team is leading the division the stadium would be full

It is unclear if the Vikings are even shopping Cousins. There are many people in the world who believe Cousins isn’t very good compared to his contractual value – and they just assume the Vikings leadership wants to trade him.
 
No person associated with Minnesota’s current leadership has detailed plans to trade Cousins. Instead, the opposite sentiment has been voiced, especially at Kevin O’Connell’s introductory press conference last week. The new Vikings skipper expressed optimism about building Minnesota’s offense around Cousins. And those aren’t exactly words that jell with an impending trade of the person being praised.
 
However, if Cousins refused to restructure his contract, the franchise might not have a choice. Cousins will slap a $45 million cap hit against the books in 2022, and the Vikings need money for free agency and the draft.

Bro, you aren't getting it....Rhule is on a short leash and if getting a veteran QB saves his a$$, then rational team building theories go out the freaking window.

Maybe, maybe not. But it's fair to say, based on the product on the field that they (Rhule and Tepper, jury still out on Fitt because Rhule runs the clown car) know far less than most other owners and HCs in the NFL, and that's who they're up against. That's who's trying to fleece them in trades like the fuging Jets did.

Appeal to Authority doesn't work when the """""authority"""" has proven they can't walk the walk. Hell they can't even crawl the crawl.

      I encourage you to go back and watch his college play. Notice how he immediately backpedals to 10 yards behind the LOS on almost every snap. You can't do that in the NFL. Your OTs have no chance of keeping those freak show edge rushers off of you. You can't create a pocket that deep. Bryce can chuck it when he has an airport runway in front of him to step up into. There's a reason why "ease of creating velocity" is such a talking point evaluating QBs. It's not how hard or how far you can throw the ball given a perfect situation. It's how hard and how far you can throw the ball in a typical NFL game situation and that's where a lot of my concerns with Bryce were going into the draft. There were way too many plays in his college tape that if you were watching that purely in terms of translating it to the NFL it just didn't work.

      Yeah, like I said I get it. From a revenue perspective I'm not a good customer for them. They've probably intentionally tanked offline franchise mode to try to get people online. Again, not a terrible strategy from a pure business perspective. I can't really be mad at them for doing what's good for business but yeah, from my perspective it still sucks.

      Ok let me be more specific. Smith was a stud before Newton got here do you not agree? Yes, LaFell improved under Cam but then had his best years after leaving the Panthers with Cam as the QB and going to NE. So he improved playing with someone else. Olsen was in Chicage the year before Cam arrived and statistically had the same numbers his first year with Cam.  Hope that's clearer for you.
