There should be no issue with Watson waiving his trade clause per ESPN.

“An issue with having the clause waived is not anticipated, the source said.”

This may sound like some crazy line of thinking…but…if there is no issue why is it not already waived?

I think that can officially happen on Wednesday when the new league year starts

From my understand they don’t have good young talent on rookie contracts to trade. Someone can see if that is incorrect. They just have picks.

Remember. We’re talking about a Matt Rhule coached team with no o line, and after this trade no draft picks or good defensive players… doesn’t sound like a place anyone on this board wants to play let alone DWatt

Matt rhule is replaceable. Top 5 Franchise qbs are not.

we’ll see if this actually happens and what the deal contains. Remember that this is essentially 2 first round picks because the #6 pick this year is us basically taking a top 5 qb. What we give up in players will be interesting.

we can also renegotiate his contract to make some moves this year in FA. from the Texans forum

Bargain for whatever team he lands on compared to the more recent QB contracts ..... the Texans having paid ~$50m in up front money and taken the cap hit .... They better get a kings ransom in picks.

Because not having a franchise QB for all but 5 seasons in our history has worked out so well for us

If you get rid of your young guys and give away all those future picks, we'll still be a shitty team. Just one with a franchise QB
