Well, the first hurdle is getting the Texans' permission to meet with him. And I don't think that would happen unless there was a realistic framework they were willing to accept.

The bigger question is probably whether the Saints can sell Watson sufficiently on their cap situation and coaching staff. Tepper's going to tell him Rhule's gone after this year if Watson wants him gone. Will the Saints be willing to do the same And beyond that, if the Saints can get $35M open by Wednesday, can they sell Watson on the future? They can restructure him, but they'll have to kick down the road whatever they convert to signing bonus out of that.

Okay I see you're stuck on something..

Getting 3 1st round pick would easily get you in the door.. And still the Saints have to move around more players and money to make there offer happen...

Facts are making both teams think the other team made a good offer doesn't hurt the Texans..

Didn’t work. Trying again.

The biggest thing in our favor is We have a top 10 pick ready to go on the books the Saints don't and probably won't have..

If it was Seattle or Philly in this they could match our offer...

But the Saints can't..

Yeah, people are acting like the ball is in Watson's court now that he can do a couple team interviews. The Texans can still refuse the trade until both sides eventually compromise.

If Deshaun goes to the Saints, I'm not just done with the Panthers, I'm done with the NFL.

People like to $hit on our FO here, but if Tepper had his way, McCarthy would be the HC and Stafford would be our starting QB, we beat LA and Dallas's offers.

I'm done with this whole "big market" sports BS, this crap is turning into the NBA. The Hornets will never win a championship because 3 players can choose to go in a big market and bully everyone else.

It's not about Watson at this point, it's the fact Tepper has spared no dollar to field a winning team and is willing to give the biggest haul in NFL history and it's STILL NOT ENOUGH for us to get anyone to QB this team outside of the draft.

You're seeing why Rhule still has a job, because anyone who has a big TV name steals any players that are not drafted.

We are now the Hornets, we have to overpay and players and coaches still won't come here.

It's not even about Watson at this point, we HAVE TO WIN this trade, we will deal with Watson for up to 13 years if we don't.

If Houston lets the Saints screw them, the NFL can kiss my A$$

This is a very good take and one most people don’t consider. Tepper actually has spared no expense and tried to acquire talent and coaches to help this team win.

    • I am not really willing to cut XL slack on the trajectory of the pass. In fact for a likely 50/50 result Bryce’s rainbows seem like they would be easier to come down with. I am picturing Russell Wilson’s punts that he was so lucky with so often.  That is what I pictured it looking like with him and Bryce.    You don’t have to be that close to the OB for that to work though. Which Bryce seems to not execute, he is often right on that line or over it.    Seems like it couldn’t be that damned hard to make your angle a little less severe when throwing a deeper ball to the outside. But it has been.    As to XL, I never had it out for him but I have eyes. He deserves to be demoted.
    • You have to work for davis and your best player on defense wants out. You're also very clearly the worst team in the best division in the afc
    • My first reaction is the mental image of a Cam fastball which surely would make it more difficult. Vs a Bryce cream puff toss. I do think in that situation Bryce’s ball is easier to handle if it is not perfect.  I don’t see the need to die on the it bad pass good pass hill, but do not think Bryce threw him a gimme, at the least.
