agree, we wanted an owner like this for years.  What's funny is as soon as we get it all I hear is "he's trying too hard" and "its embarrassing".  Season 1 Sport GIF by SHOWTIME Sports

I think wanting to pursue big names and all that is great.

What I don't like is that HE is the one that is in these meetings and leading the charge.    It needs to be the football guys doing this.   Hire smart guys and let them do their job.  And give them leeway to do things their way.

Also sheena’s tweet about falcons talking about “pieces around deshaun”. Literally every team has done this that is involved. Including us.

Yes I was thinking the same, except we are in a better position to actually do that than both teams. This all seems so odd.

Yep. Exactly. I’ll take aggressively trying to build a winner over “we just want to have a big happy family” any day of the week

The truth is right now Deshaun probably is concerned with what community would accept him the most. The answer to that is Atlanta, no doubt. Hard to put a price tag on not getting heckled or chastized when out and about.

not disagreeing with you, but I will say that he is the billionaire.  If I was a star Qb I would appreciate the owner coming to me more than his chronies.

Hey would absolutely get heckled and fuged with in Atlanta too.  Its not like they're some monolithic society down there.  Im sure there are many, many people who live in Atlanta who are disgusted with Watson, just like anywhere else.

Why isn’t cleveland in the mix? Last I read the brass went down to meet with Watson yesterday.

I can respect that too.   The part that bugs me is the reading the reports about him forcing his football decisions on his staff.  That's not using his influence in the right way.   And him not firing Rhule and keeping Hurney but hey, that's another issue.

    • Been here since middle school right when it started around 2003 after the charlotte.com one. Living outside of Carolina it was tough to find good Panthers content, news or analysis. And no one to talk to about it. This place gave me a lot though I don’t often post. In the later days, I particularly Loved PhillyB’s write ups. They were fire. Too bad I go let it go. I appreciate the hell out of @MHS831 @TheSpecialJuan @Jackie Lee and others who have been posting great content and keeping this place worth coming back to. Particularly during the offseason. Appreciate y’all!
    • Nice explanation, but I was just messing with you. Thought that would be obvious. I dont have the energy to keep on trolling. Last season I compared our situation with Bryce as a potential Alex Smith, but what we should be looking for is our version of Mahomes. Some people will read that as one sentence, to me that single sentence is equivalent to a half A4 explanationf of the teams pathway forward.
    • I dont know how much of his salary would come across and how much a trade would cost but I feel Kmet would be the sort of TE Canales and Morgan would like
