Matt Corral Pro Day Today

My take is Corral looked the worse at his pro day compared to the other two, but has the best tape/stats against the best competition over the last 3 years.

He also played in his Bowl game after injuring his ankle and injured it again(unlike Pickett).

He’s been recovering from his injury and hasn’t had as much time to get ready for his pro day as the other two have.

So it kind of confuses me if anyone is “All-in” on Pickett or Willis, but don’t want anything to do with Corral at pick 6. All of these dudes I feel have a chance to be elite and also have a chance to bust like a MF.

This class has no clear cut top QB which is good because we wouldn’t be able to get him picking 6. I would imagine our top ones are ranked pretty close together. If we have one we love take him at 6 (assuming he is there), if it’s even then you can look at trading down.

lol people writing Corral off because of the Pro day. Hilarious poo man.

You don't get it. I'm from Mississippi and watch most of his games. He is not overly accurate and that showed today. I've said it before but his best trait is mobility but that gets you killed in the NFL. He is a less talented Baker Mayfield and we should scratch him off the list quickly. If the concensus of the board is that Pickett and Willis are not first round selections in a normal year, I disagree on Pickett, then you are looking at a 3rd round pick. Move on

Agree…I watched his highlight videos and was like damn he can drop the ball in the bucket from 60 yards with ease.  I watch a game of his touches and he missed some wide open TDs badly.  My knock on him is probably that I really don’t know if he is dedicated to getting really dialed in and perfecting his game.

Pickett is clearly the most refined guy at this point.  Again though…not a huge upside but he is a good athlete.  Good arm and had far and away the best season last year.

Of course, Blaine Gabbert looked good his last year in college too and couldn’t take the next step up.

    • Why is it a no-brainer? I mean the idea of a hold out made me laugh out loud.
    • Oh, oh. I see what you are saying. Yeah but not all of those were draft for draft replacements. Jones was a dumpster dive. The overall point I was making is that it is becoming more common to see this quick pivots as people realize their mistakes. It happens with a lot of busts historically at QB.  IDK about "most teams" have fast, capable WR's. It's a mixed bag across the league. There are the Hopkins, Evans, etc that aren't sub-4.5 guys and are still star players.
    • So if it comes down to that, and it played out, we could be looking at a post June 1 designation for his 5th year money at best. Assuming it is guaranteed which I don’t know.     13.25 mil cap hit in 2027 and 2028.   I have to admit I never really went into the angles after picking up the option. I have always been don’t do it.    So, you pay him the 12 mil for year 4 and if you want out when they go into extension lobbying you trade or cut.  Is that conceivable?   The thing about trading is, I believe all the guaranteed money hits your cap right then. That’s 26.5 million if correct.  So if they picked up the 5th, this would cover the ‘we want out’ expenses from our end, after year 4.   Correct?
