i think howell is the safer pick. has less risk of flaming out and will likely be solid for a long time. carroll has a very high ceiling, but could also be gone before we have a chance to take a 5th year option on him.

Only first rounders get the fifth year option and after the 2020 CBA made them fully guaranteed they are more problematic now. Breer was talking about it this morning.

I think Howell and Corral are about the same in terms of gambles.  would have felt the same in general landing either.  I like Corrals game a little bit more.  Worry more about Corral having a little too much fun.  But Charlotte is probably a good spot for him vs some other cities.

Mayfield is the comp for Corral on NFL site. From Zierlein.

Welp, would you rather pay 20 million for one year of Baker Mayfield or would you rather pay like 4 million over 4 years for baker Mayfield?

I'm going to be straight up honest, I love the pick and I'm scared because Rhule seems to too.

No way. His arm talent and release is far greater than Heincke.

If he has the brains I'd say the ceiling is a taller Drew Brees, I know they did a lot of RPO but Corral sat in the pocket when it was time to, unlike Pickett and Malik. He gets the Heinicke thing from willingly getting injured

Sooo... What jersey # do you think he will choose? Lol  DJ Moore already owns #2 so I doubt he'll give that up. I think #4 and #9 are available.

Also, if both Corral and Ridder actually pan out and become starters, we could potentially have the future of the NFL South in their hands for years to come.

Last thought: The whole irony in all this? Matt Corral played for Ole Miss, So did Eli Manning.. and who was Manning's OC/HC in NY.... Ben Macadoo....

    • I dont think people realize how hard it is to find a consistent starting QB in the NFL. Byrce will not heart us to a SB but I do think he can manage to get us one or close..go all in on defense and change the Offensive passing game and play calls. I really think our biggest problem is our HC.  Take New Orleans QB for example, switch him and Bryce and I promise you it'll look similar or worse. New Orleans OC is levels ahead of Canales. And as far as the draft goes, in this division with as much rb talent as we face ..the answer...this guy:    Pick up a couple edge rushers in FA along with a corner and plug this guy in Rozeboom's spot. Defense solved. But only if we get a top tier rusher on that dline....jus saying
    • I think I'm going to the game in Los Angeles vs Paraguay, and the England / Croatia game here in Dallas since my mom is British.  For decent seats anywhere in the building(s) it looks like it will be upwards of $7k for the two games.  Insane. Just for perspective, you could buy field level EPL tickets for any one of the top sides in the league, and it would be 10% of the price you'll pay for crappy seats at the World Cup.
    • Meh… I knew this thread would turn into a Bryce/Tua comparison, when they couldn’t be further apart situations.   Dolphins catered there whole offense toward Tua, they brought in a coach that would run a Tua friendly offense, the went in got the best most explosive WR in the NFL and paired him the fastest WR in that years draft. Panthers have done the opposite, they went and got a Pete Carroll disciple who likes to run the ball under center, they drafted big slow WR who got little separation in college. Literally the polar opposite of Bryce’s scouting report coming out of Alabama.   Tua was a decent QB 2 years ago, but the concussions, lack of movement have caught up to him. He never had a great arm to begin with but now since he doesn’t want to get hit he’s taking the whole offense down with him.
