Darnold? .. nah

A third round rookie QB from a feeble QB class? .. definitely nah

Baker Mayfield? Jimmy G? .. nah

You're really fooling yourself if you think the answer is anyone but Cam

Yes, because defensive lines were teeing off on our QB's - put Sam out for that, not Cam - and losing was ideal anyway, which Darnold gave you the best chance to lose ..

So don't give me the RhUlE hAtEs CaM narrative because he kept Cam from getting killed further behind trash protection in garbage time of the season games

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again….sign this man and let him/Darnold battle it out. Give Corral a true redshirt year and let him take over next year.

See ya PJ you will live on in XFL memories

Or he made this bed and it's a good thing to  let this play out..  And move on when or if it fails..

No matter who you bring in this isn't a superbowl team.. And maybe ppl need to realize this and stop acting like Tepper trying everything to quick fix this situation...

Yep. He wanted to invest in Teddy then Darnold. None of the top tier guys wanted to play for him. He has no one to blame but himself for this situation he is in.

Starting Sam.  Bringning in Matt mid season and him being better than Sam.

Matt making some plays and bringing some excitement.

and he would need respectable D and ST so the illusion of Matt being the answer sells IMO

With this OL - whichever QB can hand the ball off the best. No reason we don’t have 200 rush yards a friggin game

Well, we have a RB who has only played in 10 of the last 33 games.   That might be setting the expectation high

I hate Sam and what him gone, but he is going to start Day 1 and probably is going to look better than last year because CMC is back and we have a new OL.  At some point, probably mid-to-late-season, he is going to get hurt or implode, because he does every year, and at that point we can take a good look at Corral.

I am hoping Corral plays the preseason snaps.

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
