I’m pretty sure someone here posted stats a while back that showed there is no statistical diff injury wise between turf and grass these days.  10 years ago?  Absolutely.  But todays turf is so diff

Ask any player and they will tell you how it affects their joints and hurts their feet.

If the players prefer grass and the grass helps them then mr billionaire Billy Joel butt sniffer needs to put grass Down. He can afford it

Pretty sure he addresses it not long ago.  Probably the presser before the draft.  Basically conceded it wasn’t the best choice for football…..but he has the concerts and all that jazz made it make sense.   He wants to do more than football for the community

which, I mean is probably true.  But it does reinforce the narrative that it isn’t about football and winning.  But him just growing his wealth.

It would probably do more for the community if he paid people to resolder the grass after every event. Probably more year round work than a couple 10 hour temp job shifts working a concert where Teppers making $10 profit off every Bud light

Turf .  When this artificial turf become " turf "  and  real turf , grass, not be turf anymore ?

Before "AstroTurf" , all places that sold grass were  and still are, called turf farms.

Somewhere along the line , artificial turf took over the name "turf" ,,   except for people in the business.

My son will argue me till he's blue in the face that real grass isn't turf, just artificial turf is turf.  It doesn't matter if I have him google it, or we drive past a turf farm ..  lol

There are lots of studies to say artificial turf causes more injuries.

It's just a lot cheaper to maintain

What's become infinitely clear is that the only place David Tepper really cares about winning is in his bank account.

There has been a small group of us saying that for a long while now while most others were saying he's learning or just clueless.

well, that's not what he meant by doing more for than the community.  He means maximizing what he offers to the community...in order to make the most money out of his investment.

I mean, the most important thing to him isn't the Panthers winning.  The most important thing is maximzing Tepper Sports.

    • Brandt's comment about Wharton was from his KC perspective when Wharton was a UDFA rookie.   "it goes back to the anecdote that Brandt Tillis had when he was in Kansas City. And it would be so easy to just cut Turk Wharton in 2020 when he was an undrafted rookie from a division two college in Missouri. It would been so easy to cut him because then he would have cleared waivers easily. No one knew this guy. They didn't have any joint practices, didn't have a preseason. Would have been so easy to cut him and bring him back on the practice squad and let him continue to build from there. And Brandt essentially said, "No, he's got to make the 53man roster if we're going to have any sort sense of credibility with this team."
    • Plenty of us were scratching our heads about that signing at the time. Especially with our 3-4 defense. Wharton is kind of a one trick pony situational five tech DT. He doesn't have the beef to hold up against the run and he doesn't have the juice to shift outside. He's basically a situational pass rusher DT. If we paid him $40M+ and he can't start for a historically inept defense then holy poo...
    • Agreed.  300 and 2 or 3 total in Jacksonville in a winning effort would sure be a nice start.
