Baker Mayfield makes the Panthers a playoff contender, but I've been disappointed with Carolina's offensive line this preseason. The team struggled to block Buffalo backups in the final contest, so that could make things difficult for Mayfield when the real action begins.

 

Am I crazy for not being THAT concerned about the oline? The pieces are there...they just need to play together a bit.

We have more of run blocking o-line. We have the power run blocking, but we lack the finesse to handle speedy pass rushes imo. CMC and play action pass can help, and if we can run screens properly that's even better. The hope is that we run it well enough to avoid 3rd and long situations, but we're not going to be a high octane offense imo.

Yeah he’s just making stuff up…the horrid blocking took place into the 2nd half ie 3rd string on 3rd string crime.

Pre-season rankings are a waste of time, especially for us. No one knows...

Nothing will help our protection schemes more than a healthy CMC. He changes the game that much.

You should definitely be worried about our OL. They didn't perform very well in the preseason as a unit(some very good individual performances) and they are desperately thin. 

That is a big concern.

To me he has it backwards. What in the world were we doing at 14 to begin with? I don't see how any serious person would say that we look worse going into this season than finishing last season.

Baker seemed to constantly have to move around or roll out of the pocket. Thankfully he is good enough to do that and make plays unlike the other guy

They never even technically settled the Center battle, and the depth stuff is weird. If a tackle goes down, do you really throw Cam Erving out there? Or do you Move BC out there to his natural position, then throw Jordan/Mays in at OG and then have the whole line out of sync? The price of position battles and versatile backups

Both lines look lopsided towards one or the other. Not great feels but at least the oline should improve with the yonger guys getting more reps throughout the year.
