What hurts though is that David Tepper, Marty Hurney and Steven Drummond all bought in to the idea that he was.

Marty obviously won't be involved in our next head coaching search, but I'd say the other two also shouldn't be allowed anywhere near it.

If he gets fired and that's a huge IF, I would say Tepper will wait until a number of weeks in the off-season just so we miss out on interviewing a number of potential coaching candidates and they sign with other teams. After the brunt of the top tier guys are gone then we will begin the search. We seem to like shooting ourselves in the foot so this would follow suit and seem about right.

Week 9 is our bye. Longer than I would like to wait but I imagine that’s when the trigger is pulled.

not until the season is perceived as unsalvagable. which it obviously is to us, but to an exec probably if we drop the next two games, or we're below about .333 by bye, whichever comes first.

My best guess is the bye week, week 13. Similar reasoning to letting Ron go early - get a head start on coaching search while letting Wilks coach out the string. Looking at the schedule, I think it's quite likely the team will be 2-10 or 3-9 at that point.

Ideally it would have been today(if not last year)but my gut says week 13 bye. However, my other gut says Tepper may give Rhule another year.
