Panthers have not been shut out in just under 20 years - on November 24th 2002 against the Falcons. It could happen this Sunday with the 49ers ball control offense and best D in the NFL.

I hope we end up with the lowest number of yards, lowest QBR for the game, passing negative yardage.

just out of curiosity does the teams that the 49ers played against count toward this historic start to the season? I feel like we are only a year removed from the Panthers being talked about having a historic defense a qaurter into the season....

There opponents were all struggling offenses:

1. Bears

2. Seahawks

3. Broncos

4. Rams

And their D smashed those teams, our Offense isn't struggling, its non existent.  Those teams you listed are at least 1 tier above us if not two

I think we can score about 17 points. CMC and Moton will be feeling better this Sunday imo. Also Baker is likely to play better as he has more time in our system. Having said that, I still think we lose this one. Baker doesn't take enough shots down field to open targets for us to score enough to beat most teams. You can't dink and dunk the 49ers and expect to win if your the Panthers. That is highly unlikely to work.

Nobody that knows what they are talking about thought the panther's d was "historic" at any point last year. lol

    • He was so much fun to watch as a player but is a prototypical example of the old "never meet your heroes" adage. Great player, not a great guy.
    • Look.... if us BY "haters" give credit about his GWDs...... Will the BY stans also have honest discussion about the 55minutes before the last 5 in which BY has put up 9/20 for 78 yards 0 TDs???
    • The way they are handling now is how they should have handled it from the start instead of that you get a series, you a get a series. Let Chuba spell until he had some of his step back.  We definitely could have put a better showing against Buffalo and their weak run defense had we employed the same game plan we did against Green Bay. Saints were determined to stop the run and make Bryce beat them, Atlanta had similar plan and the coaches and Bryce were able to respond.  Rico although didnt have the best rushing game was vital in the passing game and his catch and run help get us into the redzone there at the end of regulation probably should have been a touchdown that out of bounds was a judgement call it wasn't conclusive and thus should have went with the original call on the field.  Roco brings that dawg to the offense that it shorely lacked up until Miami game. Interesting it was his call that help seal the win for us, glad the coaches were listening. Hope they can get a deal done and run it back next year.
