Now that Rhule has been let go: Time to Suck Proud for Stroud

Stroud doesn't have it.  I watched one game where the announcers praised him for "doing what it takes" to pull out wins sometimes.  But why is he having to "pull out wins" when he has the talent advantage?  Guys who aren't good enough to play at OSU still go on to become 1st round draft picks at other schools.  That's how loaded they are.

Doing what it takes?  They don't even let him scramble.  He just sits in the pocket and goes through his progressions with an accurate cannon for an arm.

I’m wary of all OSU QB’s. They look like world beaters in college and crash out in the NFL. I would honestly look in a different direction or trade down just a little bit to someone that falls in love with Stroud to recoup draft capital and take a different QB.

I hope you’re joking. Only position group that needs to be addressed is linebacker and overall team depth. We have a ton of young talented players. We NEED a quarterback to fulfill our true  potential. Heck based on our draft position we will be in line for early 2nd round pick, we could get the 1st or 2nd best off ball linebacker there for sure.

Panthers will be 4 years into rebuild QB is the ONLY call in a draft year where QB is supposed to be a strength

there's literally no other position group to build at this point, unless we're talking about piling up on kickers. We suck cause our QB situation sucks.

    • He makes a good point about Wallace.  In fairness to Wallace it is hard to play your position as freely as you need to when your defensive line is getting pushed around like ragdolls.  One of the greatest attributes a defensive line has is sucking up blocks, freeing up your linebackers.  Our defensive line couldn't suck up a lollipop more or less blocks.  I think Evans, Sanders and Tremble are going to be a really nice TE group.  I can see all three getting time on the field.  If Sanders can improve as a blocker teams won't be so inclined to believe it is a pass play whenever Sanders is on the field.  Ryan Fitzgerald, I think was an awesome pick-up. Hopefully he can fill our kicker void. Luke Kandra many turn out to be our next Norwell.  Everything I have heard about him says he's a beast.  He needs some refinement, but the good news is he's got Hunt and Lewis (arguably the best guard tandem in the league) to learn from.
    • Great teams build through the draft and have several young players that start that are on rookie contracts. It's important to hit on players in rounds 4 thru 7.  These should be future starters and solid depth.  When you hit on most of your picks you free up a lot of cap space for those one- or two-year players to fill spots you are thin at. No GM is going to perfect on all their picks.  You're going to whiff every once in a while.  That was Hurney problem.  He'd nail the first pick but after that it was reach after reach and we couldn't get any depth on this team. I'm excited about Morgan as our GM and hopefully he'll be around a long time.  It will be even better if Canales can continue to grow as a head coach, both in the development of young players and play calling. I remember last season after Young came back in the lineup and started to perform well.  We saw different plays I had only seen other teams use.   If Canales's play design and play calling continue to grow. Morgan and Canales will be linked together for a long time.  It would be nice to see a Coach and GM together for a decade or two. Go Panthers
    • They also came out for the encore and the singers were dressed in canes jerseys. Pretty fuging cool.
