If Riverboat Ron becomes available....

I like Ron a lot.  Seems like a good man and I still think he’s a decent coach and pretty good motivator at times.   However that’s a big no for me as well and would prefer someone else.  I don’t want a retread.  I want someone new and hope we get lucky and get the next big thing.

    • In a perfect world he’d play out his contract and if he looks great you can tag or extend him. But I wouldn’t offer more than a third. And I wouldn’t extend up front
    • I have already seen him mocked to 7.
    • I am not endorsing or rejecting.. just commenting. NYG GM Schoen and Morgan are like, vacation buds. Did the Burns trade already.  If we had interest it should be do-able. One year rental? Could be cheap. But it would need to be. Maybe a player could go back to them. More than that? Like trade for and extend him? I don’t know enough about him to really say about that. What LG just said sheds some light.    In a general sense, we have done well with our late rounders but the reason for that may apply less going forward. Tillis referenced this as well in his combine interview the other day. When you have holes everywhere it is easy to fill them with a draft pick, but once you have gotten things to a certain level that changes. At that point maybe a late round pick doesn’t upgrade your team like it did n previous seasons.  Hence the low picks become less impactful for us, there is less utility. Which could play into them being more willing to use them in a trade.
