Such a salesman.

My sentiments exactly. I had a friend say how he felt he was a snake oil salesman from day one. So he says " I still watch film like all great coaches I've known when they get fired do, to see what I could've done better". The host asks so what is that. This is why he has no credibility amongst the fanbase, I feel like his speeches fell on deaf ears, and  he lacked credibility with our players. He instantly is like "Ummmm, that's a good question" caught completely off guard like a kid bullshitting elaborating on a homework assignment they didn't do and stutters through some malarkey about player relationships. C'mon man, you look at film to see how you could have had better relationships with the players! No wonder everybody checked out but the dudes that played at Baylor and Temple.

Got around to seeing clips; man this dude is really high on himself.  I get he's trying to sell his abilities but he really doesn't take the right angles.  If I were in his boat, I'd position myself filled with humility and taking lessons learned.  What he admitted when he was asked about what he would do different was such a bad answer.  I always felt that he had basically no relationship with our best players and he pretty much admitted to it.  You just never saw CMC, Moore, or our top talent actually back him up or speak of him like they did Ron.  And then Matt is like, yep, I didn't really talk to them much, finally did after a few years.

And meanwhile, he's still acting like he's got some type of secrete sauce.  Such a salesman.

All right, this is weird...

Those quotes bear a lot of similarity to what was said in the Charles Robinson article.

It wouldn't exactly be shocking to find out he read an article about himself, but to turn around and quote or paraphrase things that were in it would be kind of 🤔

He's NOW throwing covid under the bus!

You know, his persona is something Ive seen many times. I just never cared before to look up where he was raised. Sure enough I was right. He was born and raised in NY and Pennsylvania. He`s a god damn Yankee. I work around many different people that work in the trade field. Every time someone throws around about how much they know and how smart they are, it is always bullshit and just about every time they came down from the North or New England states. Yeah you can never trust what they say and when it comes right down to it, they suck at their job and dont know what they are doing. Someone always has to go behind them and fix their mess.

The fact that this is his answer to lWhat would you do differently” make me dislike him even more.
I haven’t watched the clips because I don’t want to hear that idiots voice.
But from the comments and tweets I read it seems like he doesn’t think he did anything wrong on the football side.
Getting to know your players isn’t going to win games. Rhules problems were from how he coached and built the team.

It sounds like something that, if you are an AD at a major program, it will give you a pause about him.  Everybody tries and fails at things.  As long as they take something away from the failure that makes them better and helps reduce the likelihood of another failure, that is grown.  He failed at moving to a level that many good college coaches before him have failed.  The fact that he didn't own up to learning anything beyond BS, sounded like BS, could close some doors for him.  He didn't grow, at least that he would admit.

Geez, guy, act like a normal human being, not some guy on the tube at 1:30am doing an infomercial.
