NFCS Playoff Picture (ESPN)

For anyone that still cares, here’s the breakdown. I’ve been on the tank train but since we won’t get a top QB…this is all we have left;

The Buccaneers remain the leader to clinch the division with three weeks remaining and will make the playoffs if they win their final three games (at Arizona, vs. Carolina, at Atlanta).

The Panthers, who fired coach Matt Rhule on Oct. 10 after a 1-4 start, have an advantage over the Saints and Falcons because of tiebreakers. If they win their final three games (vs. Detroit, at Tampa Bay, at New Orleans), they’ll have swept the Buccaneers and will win the division.

The Falcons would be eliminated from wild-card contention if they lose next week, but could remain alive in the division race. The Falcons need to win their final three games (at Baltimore, vs. Arizona, vs. Tampa Bay); they also need the Buccaneers to lose their final three games, the Panthers to lose to the Saints and Lions and the Saints to lose to the Browns and Eagles.

The Saints could make the playoffs at 7-10 (as long as they beat the Panthers). They would need the Buccaneers to lose their final three games, the Panthers to lose to the Lions and the Falcons to lose to either the Ravens or the Cardinals.

What if we lose against Detroit but win against Tampa and NO?

Then the Bucs would have to drop one more to either the Cardinals or Falcons.

It’s absolutely nutty that we still control our own destiny.

No matter who wins the division, they'll be playing the cowboys. So basically it's one and done after getting beat by the cowboys and embarrassed on their home field with the message being, "you don't belong in the playoffs".

2010 season, saints were 11-5 and would have won any NFC division that didnt have the falcons who were 13-3.  Went on the road to 7-9 Seattle seahawks and got skulldrug and the infamous beast mode run was born.  Anything is possible.

I always think about the 'any given sunday' mentality ; along with the fact that you never know what teams may have unlucky injuries during that time.

Anything is possible once you hit the playoffs, and the Cowboys have looked not good the last couple weeks...

But I'm skeptical we'll make it there.

I didn't understand the playoff talk and I damn sure don't understand it now. This team is incomplete. That's why many people were saying get yourself the best draft pick you can and build up this offense in the offseason. And for goodness sake enough with this defensive identity tomfoolery. The best teams in the league are putting up 30 points consistently and at least giving themselves a solid chance. We are not one of them.

    • Not only was the XL exchange just absolutely horrid, but this????  Forgive me, as I know it’s not PC, but is Newton legitimately retarded?  What a fuging idiot!!!  You want Evero to tell you he sprinkled some magic fairy dust on him, just for last week, to give him some super pass rushing powers?  Or may be shoved a fuging infinity stone up his ass?  Maybe held his family ransom?  Just shut the absolute fug up, you fuging idiot.  And to not ask once.  Not twice.  But three fuging times, trying to force Evero into a different answer.  I really wish someone would punch him in his fuging mouth.     and there was absolutely no excuse for the question to XL.  You could see his eyes start to get red and glassy.  Newton is a fuging tool.  You have one job you fuging idiot, and whether you don’t remember or you just don’t know, then maybe you need to find a new line of work.  fuging weirdo.
    • Yep, that's all them Bryce fans can do, trying to remind everybody of his bygone glory days in college. Who gives poo? What's he done for the Panthers lately? I can't wait for these Bama fans to leave the forum once we get rid of their favorite midget. They are almost annoying as The Golden Calf of Bristol fans.
    • I'm too old to answer most of those questions, but I've lived in Winston off and on for the last 5 years and I enjoy it. Easy to live close to the city and still feel like your not in a city or vise versa.
