I'm done with HCs with defensive mindsets.  Yes, I realize he's an ex-QB, but he coaches like he played LB. Run the ball, clock control and keep the game low scoring.

I done with that poo.

Uh, no. Look at his 49ers teams. The games aren't particularly low scoring at all.

Don't get college mixed up with the pros, and don't get one team mixed up with another on a case by case and yearly basis.

Lastly, if you can run a team into submission, that's akin to the holy grail of offense.

We're not likely to reach out to anybody until the season is officially over.

Hmm that brings up a question because I really don't know.  Do we have to wait?  For tampering reasons or whatever?  Since Wilks is technically interim head coach are we able to reach out before the season ends without breaking any rules?

We've probably reached out to several people in the back channel ways that always happen this time of year.

We don't necessarily have to wait, but both Tepper and Fitterer have stated that they would wait out of respect for Steve Wilks.

He's just like his brother.  Too conservative and cannot win in the playoffs.  But somehow this place is all on board for that. The irony in wanting that from this board is truly comical.

He had a 5-3 playoff record with 3 NFC championship appearances, an NFC title, and a SB appearance in 4 years. His worst NFL regular season record was 8-8. I can understand being skeptical, but no need to make up reasons as to why.

BTW his brother has a SB ring as well.

    • Number 9  Carolina Panthers  Bryce Young, the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, produced career highs in completion percentage (63.6%), passing yards per game (188.2) and passing touchdowns (23) in 2025. However, those numbers aren't exactly stellar by NFL quarterbacking standards. Even though the Panthers backdoored their way into the postseason in 2025 as NFC South champions with an 8-9 record, Young's performance was up-and-down. He threw for the third-fewest passing yards by a quarterback to make the playoffs in the last 20 seasons, per CBS Sports Research.  FEWEST PASSING YARDS BY QB TO REACH PLAYOFFS, LAST 20 SEASONS (MIN. 16 STARTS) PASSING YARDS PLAYOFF WINS 2012 Christian Ponder (MIN) 2,935 0 2008 Joe Flacco (BAL) 2,971 2 2025 Bryce Young (CAR) 3,011 0 2006 Steve McNair (BAL) 3,050 0 2019 Josh Allen (BUF) 3,089 0 Young did deliver some high highs, like when he threw for a franchise-record 448 yards passing in a Week 11 overtime win at the Atlanta Falcons and when he went toe-to-toe with Stafford in the playoffs in a 34-31 defeat.  Kenny Pickett couldn't win the Cleveland Browns' quarterback competition a year ago, and Will Grier is a career backup.
