Person added this as well...

It still feels like there’s momentum for Johnson, the former North Carolina quarterback who directed a top-five offense in his first season calling plays in the NFL. Johnson is sharp, but green. He could benefit from having a former head coach on his staff.

McVay definitely benefited from having Wade Philips there. So I could see Vic Fangio being a safety net while the offense finds their feet and have any type of HC experience on staff will always benefit the young HC. I am all for it!

I think you need to be smart with the former head coach you choose to be on your staff. For example: Dan Campbell originally hired former Chargers coach Anthony Lynn (a horrendous HC) to be his OC. Campbell stripped him of playcalling duties and fired him after 1 year.

Fangio wasn't the best HC but is a stud DC.
