Roman Harper thinks Sean Payton could be our next HC now

Listening to WFNZ radio now.
Kyle Bailey in the afternoon is close with Roman Harper, they do a side podcast together etc.

Harper, former Saints player.  Is also close to Payton.  In fact one of Payton’s only former players to be invited to his wedding.

Bailey and Harper just wrapped up their podcast episode and Kyle taking about it on air now.

Harper said there was no way no how Sean Payton and the Panthers would ever happen……..until today.  And he think it’s a real possibility with a 4th and 2024 1st gets it done

 

Carolina has began interviewing DCs the last few days.  And the only connections to any HC candidates by these guys is Payton

So per one post we're going to trade our 2024 1st to move up to get Stroud, and another we're going to use it on a 60 year old coach.  I guess we just try and close both deals before they notice the con then?

I’m not opposed to trading next years first for him. 
 

It presents options in the draft with the 9th pick. We could potentially trade down in the first and pick up a 2024 first for the 9th pick, thus netting Payton for only a 4th rounder. 
 

Despite how I feel about the dude, getting a coach of his quality for a 4th is a slam dunk.

I used to hang out with Roman Harper when he lived at the Vue. He constantly threw BBQ parties at the pool. He also had his going away party at the Vue when he left the Panthers. From all of our conversations he really enjoyed it here in CLT. 

If Sean Payton was looking for a ringing endorsement on a place to live and work.... he definitely got one from Roman.

I don’t mind a 2024 1st because that gives us time to recoup it. The Saints are in the shitter with Dennis Allen and a defense with an average age of 47 so I’m not really concerned there.
