2023 QB scouting report

Came across this video and it's a really good quick scouting report on each QB prospect in this years class. I think this dude is spot on with his assessments of each QB, talks about strengths and weaknesses of each. Not a Levis supporter but I can grow to like and support him if he is our pick. If all 3 QBs are gone, the next question is if we would take Richardson in the top 10. His eval of Richardson is a more raw Cam Newton when he came out in 2011. Some on the huddle would rather roll with Corral, but he thinks Richardson is a much higher and better prospect that Corral.

I will take AR. I don't believe we would have to trade up for him either so we keep most all of our draft picks we have this year. I will also take Levi's as I can see potential in him as well as long as we have a good coach in place who has a speciality of developing QB's as far as both of them goes. For me that makes Shane Steichen become very valuable and my number one candidate.

I don't mind a raw QB prospect AS LONG as the next HC can develop him. Our next HC and QB needs to be a perfect marriage. Joe Burrow is a franchise QB who saved Zac Taylor's job. Purdy is a poor prospect but playing well because of good coaching. Lawrence was trash before Pederson. I'm starting to move away from the notion that we have to have an elite prospect at the QB position, obviously it helps to be elite, but with right coaching and situation I think success can be found.

Based what exactly? The fact that Florida outrecruits Kentucky virtually every year ('21 12 vs. 35, '20 9 vs. 25, '19 9 vs. 34, '18 14 vs. 37) or the fact that Florida ends up w/ a better conference record virtually every year ('22 both 3-5, '21 2-6 v. 5-3, '20 8-2 vs. 4-6, '19 6-2 vs. 3-5). So for four years UF was clearly better than UK in recruiting and record except for one single year where UK beat them with conference record. Those of you excusing AR's horrific stats due to no talent at the University of Florida are in for a rude awaking. The good news is that AR is truly the man to lead us to the number one overall pick in '24 or '25 depending on when we start him. If we hire Steichen and he uses AR in an RPO run heavy offense, he could succeed here for a few years before he starts to break down like a running back.

I’m not sure Purdy was a poor prospect. He was just overlooked. Some had him going Day 3. 

This YouTuber was raving about him pre-draft.

But yes, coaching is a big factor here.

It is an odd little cult on here, that is for sure.

I like the following six QB's in the 2023 NFL Draft : 1 Bryce Young 2 C.J. Stroud 3 Will Levis 4 Anthony Richardson 5 Tanner McKee 6 Hendon Hooker.

They all have a chance to succeed at the NFL level if they have coaches that will teach them to be better leaders and communicators on and off the field and assist them in unleashing their full talent with the proper drills and techniques.

      …is Brycen Tremayne with 108 yards. Not sure what that tells us but I imagine it’s some sort of gumbo consisting of the following: - Bryce can’t push the ball downfield  - contrary to what many were saying this offseason, the wr still needs a lot of work.  - we need Coker back badly.  - Brycen is pretty good! Congrats to that young man! Curious to hear other’s read on it. Was a pretty surprised to see he had more yards than anyone other than Tet and thought that was symptomatic of our issues on offense.

      I don’t think many fans would have guessed the Chiefs and Ravens would be where they are right now. Same goes for some surprise packages like the Colts, I’m not sure many would have put money on them being top of their division after five weeks. It’ll be interesting to see if this continues!   Not necessarily. The Chargers have lost both starting OL and their 1st and 2nd choice RBs. They fell apart against Washington. The Broncos have just beat the Eagles, so they’d be my favourite in that division, but they are still only one win ahead of the Chiefs. All the Chiefs need is a couple of results to go their way and they’ll be right in the fight for the AFC East. I think that division is going to be very close and probably not a 12 or 13 win division like predicted. Unless of course the Broncos kick on.
