Yup, every team has some sort of holes. Locking down the QB spot makes it a lot easier to actively target and fill those holes. We've built a good base and its a very friendly spot to Develop a young guy in. Time to go get your guy.

The plan has been clear and further solidified by hiring Reich..  Oline solid, firm foundation on defense and a HC who specializes on offense and developing QB’s..

Agree to disagree. Darnold is trash. Don’t my want his ass on my team anymore. Hopefully Reich and co is smart enough not to have anything to do with him. Which I think they are. Darnold has shown nothing since he has been in the league.
I don’t understand why any Panthers fan wants him back. But we do like mediocrity and going back to stuff that doesn’t work. So I am not surprised people seem to think Darnold will STILL work out despite 5 years showing he won’t.

He was 4-2 in 6 starts that isn't mediocre. His passer rating was 92 which is above mediocre. So no he sure sucked last year but he was actually a bright spot this year. Even against Pittsburgh and Tampa he had passer ratings of  108 both games. That is above mediocre.

And in three of those wins he had passing totals of 43, 120, and 164 yards.  Also passer rating by itself can be a bit misleading because there is no eye test component, it's just a stat driven metric.

Again his passing rating of 92 included this with the Saints. Shows how really good he did the other 5 games. But lets only ficus on the one bad game and not the others typically huddle illogic to fit the agenda.

It the best stat to compare qbs given it takes into account numerous things.  And he only does what the OC calls. He can't help we ran like crazy against Detroit. He was a game manager and did what he could to win.

Awww poor Wilks fan is mad that his butt buddy didn't get the job.

It's ok, just close your eyes when Reich goes for it on 4th and 1 at Midfield instead of punting, I know it will be very traumatizing for you otherwise.

So we gonna win the division next year with Reich?

The rumors are Kevin Patullo, Jason Michael, and Brian Johnson since they have some type of connection to Frank’s offense and are in position to be promoted. A few people on Twitter mentioned Parks Frazier but I think it’s too early in his career and he didn’t exactly do so well in his interim role.

AC/DC's Brian Johnson considers retirement | Noticias | Agencia Peruana ...

I can't imagine the plays getting called in at a normal volume.

I love this hire.  And in a way it seems like karma that Reich gets a chance to be the first HC hired during the cycle, which gives him the ultimate jump on assistant coaches.  This is in complete contrast to when he went to the Colts and was the last coach hired and part of the staff was already hired by Josh McDaniels...who pulled out of the job.

I certainly hope Tepper opens up his wallet to secure quality assistants.  It can make or break a regime.

You Wilks haters are weird.

We easily make the playoffs if Wilks was the coach the entire season.

Yall make the fanbase look bad trashing this dude. Wilks was a class act the entire time.

Hmm, maybe.  I think we only win at most 2 more games, and perhaps only that browns game because remember Darnold was hurt.  That may have been enough with tiebreakers.

Wilks is was a fine coach but it makes sense to go in a different direction on the other side of the ball.

    • I really appreciate Bill explaining his methodology here because that gives interested parties a chance to try and recreate the results themselves. I believe that it's safe to assume that despite emphasis being placed on WRs that Chuba Hubbard is one of the Panthers' top-5 weapons. Considering targets, yardage, receptions, etc... Adam Thielen and Xavier Legette are also on the list. Jalen Coker's success might have snuck him in there as well. I can't draw a conclusion on who #5 is though. I've narrowed it down to Diontae Johnson, David Moore, Ja'Tavion Sanders, and possibly Rico Dowdle if they're taking into account his production for the Cowboys in 2024.
    • Unfortunately business is business especially when there are large sums of money on the table. Goes the same for player and ownership. Does not make it right either way.  Why would he not want to play for the niners? Closer to home with a team that has a chance of delivering a SB trophy.
    • I don’t know if it’s him bad mouthing his former situation in public or my pettiness but either way I’m not a fan. Dude was on playoff teams getting paid millions to entertain. I’m not better that because and I am better than that. You don’t bad mouth your former employer in public. Esp after getting over paid and two, poor little Russian baby didn’t get the playing spot he wanted. Rod had him exactly where is was supposed to be.  He had a mean lip check and did defend our players. Specifically the devils game around Christmas where is our Haula on his ass. Cool. Thank you. But don’t talk poo about us. Because it make you look like Haula.    “need to get as far away as possible”. fug off. Didn’t see Burnsy bad mouthing and his play dropped off too.    sorry, but Orlov doesn’t get a pass from me. See you twice a year…
