Texans have the draft capital to move from #2 to #1 if they have a preference between Stroud and Young, if Chicago did move back to #2, they could once again have the Colts or us going for a 2nd trade. Assuming they ultimately want Jalen Carter or Will Anderson I don't know if they'd wanna move back to 9.

Which is why I think we should move up to #3 first, then trade up to #1 or #2 from there.

Well we are gonna have to bite the bullet eventually.

Biting the bullet doesn't mean trading three first round picks either.

I think we should see how the combine / pro-days / etc. begin to align.

I think we will have AR or Stroud there at #9.

HOU and IND seem to be the initial threats. Bryce & Stroud, or Bryce and Levis are likely the combo for first two QB's taken.

After free agency it will show us who else is serious about a draft QB.

Hurts looked like a guy who needed a position change at Bama. It's hard to judge Lincoln Riley QBs. Everyone he puts on the field puts up video game stats in Heisman worthy campaigns.

There goes that label again. We can agree to disagree. It’s pretty clear who was right.

Yeah.  This team has not exactly gone places except the NFL Cellar and with next-to-zero results.

Time to put all our chips on the table and just go for it.

We suffer a bit for the present in order to have a better future.

This isn't poker where you can go all in by bluffing, you need to give up a ton of picks for a maybe. Convince me that Stroud or Young are so great that we need to give up multiple 1s when we have Corral in the wings. I would give him a try and if he sucks we will have a high pick next year so getting our guy won't cost us an arm and leg. Or move up slightly for Levis or Richardson and don't mortgage the farm.

And what if Corral is not great, but not terrible? (Which is the most likely option.) Then we're right back in the same boat we're in now and we've successfully missed out on a potentially franchise changing talent. If Corral is the answer, let him prove it by earning the job in training camp vs. a rookie.

I'm all for taking a 1st round QB but I think there's a lesson in some of the big moves that have failed: Trubisky and Lance for example.

Let's see who's left at 9 rather than trade a bunch of 1s and 2s.  It can happen: Allen at 7, Mahomes at 10, Lamar at 32.  Winning teams that waited.

Trubisky and lance dont belong in the same sentence as Stroud.

I just don’t understand why people think Reich has any desire to commit to a third round QB coming off a massive injury that he didn’t choose.

I doubt Reich is ready to jump back into QB purgatory at the start of his second chance, he knows that’s the position he needs to nail down and he’s not going to sacrifice a year to do it.

I just want to know what makes yall think any team management would embrace this type of scenario? You are talking about almost a full year of preparation and a 17 game season with a guy who didnt even make it threw pre season as QB. I could understand a little bit more if corral made it threw season not on IR and maybe even got to play just a lil bit....but i dont even think that would have been enough to ride a whole next season off his back. And that's without factoring in a new coach that didnt validate him.

I don't think Corral is really waiting in the wings.  He seems as much as an after thought for our staff as people online.  I'm not classifying him a bust by any means, I imagine Reich will be giving him a look this summer, but he was the 94th pick for a reason.

They've made clear they're still looking.  It's not settle on Corral season.

He's just not some high end pick we have to account for, he was within 30 picks of Eason pick # wise (not year), who was Reich's own pick and pretty similar in age 24/25.

And they'll know what they're working with well before the preseason rolls around; they know what to spot.  Reich made Foles, Wentz, Brissett all look their best and worked with some of the better QBs in the 2000s in Manning, Rivers, & Luck.  He knows what he's doing with the modern passing game. They're going to be searching for a guy that works for them, and we'll find out come FA & Draft.

I just caution anyone going into this offseason thinking Corral is this QB we can simply just take a chance with and throw to the wolves.  If our last staff was even tepid about bringing him into the preseason games in an open comp, then I just highly caution he's more on the QB3/PS territory than QB2/Emergency Starter side of things.

Honestly, if AR is our target if we stand pat at 9, we likely will have to move up to get him.  I've always said, generally, with QBs, if they're projected at a certain spot before the pre-draft process, they usually get pushed up a lot more by the time the process is over due to demand and it being the most coveted position to fill in football. We may have to move up into the Top 5 even for AR, especially if he performs well at the combine.

Im super banking on him lighting up the combine. I believe right now the other 3 are locked in for top 8(not buying the stroud dropping talk). The first two picks will/should be QBs after da bears move their pick. Panic will set in and other teams will be making trade up calls for the remaining big 3 QB(panthers?). Reason for this is it being a weak cream WR, CB, LT, and edge/DE pool. If there no super elite valued spots, why take a risk on them?? Transfer that risk to the QB spot.

Failcons being one pick in front of us is a big-time problem too, ridder is not good enough to over look a top 8 rated QB. Plus Ive done enough research and testing(mocks), if panthers want a QB, its a near must to trade up. There are only 4 prime players.
