It's fine.

Now the peanut gallery here will find something ELSE to bitch and moan about.

Will it be CJ if he struggles?

Will it be the Vet QB (Brissett?) if he struggles?

Or maybe they'll just start bashing Burns or something....oh wait.  They already do that, don't they?   lol

Anyway, I hope CJ turns out to be the real deal here.

If he is, then we're set up for the next decade-plus.

If he isn't, then we're right back where we started...with nothing.

I really liked CJ too, but if you endorsing him, I'm having second thoughts.

its now going be AR or Young...lmao

And I rather they resign PJ before they sign Brissett lol. Just so you have nothing to root for here, we getting rid of all the trash

The 49ers QB pecking order remains fluid w/a great supporting cast of players.  I suspect, if Sam ever makes it into a game, he'll stand a good chance of posting some career best stats.  Niner's coaching staff will get the best out of Darnold.  Whether that's enough to make him more than an afterthought is anyone's guess.

I'm sure Shannahan saw Sam's resurgence last season and his numbers and was like "Hmm...I think I can work with this".

Doubt he would've even considered him if this was after the disastrous 2021 season.

Sam saved his NFL career last year.

Happy for him.

And now it's officially time to move on.

I wish him the best. I wonder if Lance gets shopped? I doubt they carry three QBs.

Purdy might not be ready in time.  He just had or is soon having surgery on that elbow.  It's mid-March and that's a long rehab. Darnold is insurance.

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
