After this season we will have a 33 year old theilen, tmj in his 4rth year who hasn't shown basically anything, smith and LVS.

That's a putrid wr corp. Again after this year.  There is work to be done upgrading it more and that's through the draft

We drafting Flowers at 39

it's clear that the front office has seen something in this void years business that makes it just a good move to do in a variety of situations. the Panthers don't even need the cap room given to them by adding 4 void years to Chark's deal. plenty of room to sign all their draft picks and still make more moves in free agency.

I don't know if they just see this as the cost of doing business for this off-season specifically, or if they feel this is just a handy way to rig the cap calculations game. but it's clear it's a conscious move on their part, regardless of trying to save up x amount of space.

Idk the thought process, but they are getting a pretty good WR for 7 mil split between 2 years, and 3 UFA for the following 3 years. I also think they plan to have rookie a WR in that timespan. Works well for the WR budget.

In a couple years from now, if this team hasn't turned around, those lingering cap hits are going to be brought up daily on the Huddle.

That's two wide receiver signings because of our staff! Sanders coming here was also because of Duce from their time in Philly. I have all the confidence in the world that this staff knows what they are doing. Our staff gives us instant credibility already!

Damn, it’s good to be on this side of staff credibility for a change. The circus staff sucked.

    • The panthers are such a trash organization at this point that all the huddle can do is argue about which panthers team is historically the worst…good times.
    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
