I expect to see that the results with Beathard, Hoyer, Lance, and Mullens is the result of Shannahan. Garappolo and Purdy were just better QBs. Darnold will prove that to be true as he struggle with Shannahan like many other QBs.

He very well may.  It seems anyone can be successful in that offense.  

If our new qb and offense is going strong, it won't be too hard to see darnold succeed.  However, if our house is in shambles, that will be painful to see simultaneously.

I don't think it's a Darnold fetish as much as an inferiority complex. Look for the worst in literally everything that happens and play victim to it.

They were probably heading to the Super Bowl if Purdy didn’t get hurt in the NFC championship game. Darnold was playing well in most games at the end of 2022 and that was on a team with Ben McAdoo calling plays.

This is easily the best situation Darnold has been in and it seems like he turned a corner late last season. I think he beats Lance for the starting job and has a career season. Good for him for landing in an ideal situation. 

Would not be surprised if he had a Gino Smith type career.

Best of luck to Sam.  He appears to have landed in the best case scenario for a QB.

If Shanahan can't help him, I doubt anyone else can.

Haven't read the thread. Just offering up my opinion. 

Sam has the talent to be a good starting QB in this league. He's been hosed by 2 different teams. 

I can't blame him for taking the opportunity in San Fran.   He may not be able to hold off Purdy once he's healthy,  but he certainly has a good opportunity to resurrect his career. At the very least, extend it.
