Bryce Young will be the best QB ever in Charlotte

You can’t compare Jake’s Super Bowl performance to Cam’s.  The Ragin’ Cajun threw for over 300 yards with three TDs to zero interceptions.  He outplayed Tom Brady that night.  It definitely wasn’t his fault they came up short in that game.  I have the same amount of love for Cam, but he obviously wasn’t his best in SB 50.  As for Bryce Young…nah.

If only Cam had that 2003 OLine blocking for him...and a Moose/Smitty in their prime with Proehl working out of the slot instead of Jericho Cotchery/Philly Brown/Ted Ginn. Cam probably would have broke SB records too.

BTW this thread made me not want Bryce Young for whatever reason and I'm very torn between him and CJ. I have this feeling we might shock the entire NFL with a curveball

i think they will draft stroud and we will cheer.  Tua and Murray, both rather smallish QBs, getting hurt this year may be enough to sway them to take the safer (healthwise) pick over the best processor.  We shall see.

Tua isn’t small, I don’t know why this is common thought. He’s a bit shorter than nfl average obviously but he’s not “small”. He just doesn’t know how to fall. Which is why he’s taking judo this off-season.

The word was "smallish" which might imply that he is smaller than the average QB, which he is.

This is just absolute nonsense. I’ll take the size crap. Not this lazy crap.

Yea but it's true.  When watching his highlights, on most of his long throws the receiver has to stop and turn around to catch the ball. Even at his pro day(where everything is scripted)there were only 2 catchable long balls.  When he throws them he has so much body movement it looks like he's throwing a hailmary, CJ barely moves his arm when throwing deep.  If we draft Bryce Young, I will support him, but I don't want a noodle armed QB

But I just don’t get the point of it is? His size doesn’t really have to do with his ability to avoid concussions. Bryce is ALOT smaller than he is, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll suffer the same fate of injuries etc.

Exactly, young puts his whole body into it. CJ just flicks his wrist and throws bombs

The STIGMA of smallish QBs (and running QBs for that matter) may influence a tough decision.  That was the point--and it was a mere suggestion not intended to be submitted into state's evidence seeking a prosecution.  It addresses human nature and bias---that's all.

Of course people always want to give him the excuse of “if he only had an all pro offensive line and 3 all pro WR then he would have been better” completely ignoring how other great QBs would have no offensive line or WRs and still put up better numbers.

Lol this is such an absurd take. Over nine years, he had one excellent wide receiver for his first 3 years (Steve Smith). In his prime, his "#1 receivers" were Kelvin Benjamin, Ted Ginn and Devin Funchess. Not to mention the Shula offense which was reliant on his threat to run, of course he wasn't going to lead the league in passing yards.

And the offensive line, we just wanted functional - rather than relying on dudes like Matt Kalil, Chris Clark, Byron Bell, Nate Chandler, and Brian Folkerts to protect your best asset. Imagine if we surrounded this new rookie QB with trash like that how mad we'd be.

    • take a  look around the league at other young Qb's around Bryce Young's age group  such as Drake Maye , Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix , CJ Stroud  & Caleb Williams who at the time like Bryce Young they also were drafted also joined teams with a losing record .the only difference with these Qb's is after joining their teams with a losing record they led those same teams to a winning record in a very short period of time .it's simply what you call a game changer & or elite Qb's & then take a  look at  the other side of the coin you have Qb's such as Trey Lance, Zach Wilson, Mac Jones, Justin Fields  & Anthony Richardson also like Bryce Young all first round picks who instead of winning either did not play or led their teams to a losing record while playing  just because Bryce Young was a #1 overall pick does not necessarily mean that he will become improve with time if history tells you anything it's matter of fact just the opposite . lBryce Young who has an overall record of 14-30 & wildly inconsistent & never in the history pf the NFL has a Qb 5'10" or shorter had a successful carrer as Qb in the NFL  you have to ignore alot of FACTS & be really ignorant to the FACT to think Bryce Young is the future at Qb if anything history is telling you exactly what ?..just saying

    • to me these two signings were so bad for the Panthers at the time of our young team. "Sean Gilbert was signed by the Carolina Panthers on April 21, 1998, after being traded from the Washington Redskins in a deal that sent the Panthers two first-round picks (Nos. 5 and 12) to Washington. The Panthers then re-signed Gilbert to a 7-year, $46.5 million contract extension on the same date"  The other was Jason Peters being picked in the First round of the 1998 draft. "Peter played for the Panthers from 1998 to 2001, appearing in 38 games (starting 20) and recording 88 total tackles, 7.5 sacks, and 1 fumble recovery His NFL career was cut short by a chronic neck stinger, forcing him to retire after the 2001 season
