NFC Championship is a pipe dream, but there's no reason we can't make the playoffs in this division.

NFCCG next year.

playoffs this year...and not one and done, either.

that's where i have the bar.

but even if it's just a winning record, that's a win for me and trending in the right direction.

we almost made it last year with a fugged up coaching situation and an even more messed up QB situation. the team was a mess, and we almost pulled off a playoff spot and weren't too far from a winning record.

we are much better off this year than at the the end of last year. no reason to think that we won't be better this year.

After nearly 30 years of Panthers football, you should all know to be cautiously optimistic about this team or even semi-pessimistic with the hopes of being surprised. We’ve been burned too many times.

Some are predicting the playoffs this year or even the NFC championship lol. Do you even Panther bro?

I think we could compete for an NFC Championship, when you remove QB from the equation. Everything will depend on Bryce Young and how he translates, ultimately. This is the best receiving core we've had since Steve Smith left. Best running back room, best offensive line, and best coaching staff.

If we fail to win the South, it will fall squarely on Teppers shoulders for pushing the wrong QB.

Unless you believe that much in Derek Carr or are that low on Bryce Young, I don't see how the Panthers aren't the favorites in the NFC South.  I think it is between us and the Saints for sure.  And I can say with 100% confidence that isn't me being a homer or anything like that.  Look at the rosters.  Not to mention the Panthers, at least on paper, have the best coaching staff in the division by a country mile.  Although I do like Arthur Smith.

This aint your daddys panthers. Reich won 7 games with Brissett, 11 games with Old man Rivers, and 9 games with Carson Wentz

In contrast everyone's favorite coach MoRon Rivera went 2-5 with Wentz.

This is hands down the best coaching staff we have ever had. Reich could win 8-9 games with Dalton starting.

So, literally you prefer to be pessimistic and negative about the team each year? Why even watch if that's how you feel? Just feels depressing to even be a fan. Being a fan is something that is supposed to bring you joy away from the stresses of real life. Why on earth would anyone want to let an enjoyment turn into something that pulls them down even when their team has had a solid off season and shows promise with a good coach that has a fully working brain unlike Rhule and a young QB who yes is small but if he can maintain health has all the makings of a franchise leader. It is no good to walk though life overly confident but why walk through life so negative and down on something that is supposed to bring you fun, an escape and enjoyment?

Well okay, maybe that's not what he's trying to say, but it's pretty clearly what he's actually saying and what he's been saying for so long that at this point it's pretty pathetic.

You seem to like to draw a bit of attention to yourself as well.  So I guess if the shoe fits.

Past performance does not always equate to future performance but it can sometimes provide an indication.

That stated just based on what I see.....the Panthers win 6 to 9 games this year miss the playoffs and Young ends up on the IR before the year is out.

This kid is not physical material for the NFL.........and if the Oline doesn't perform as a top 5 group in the NFL all season I doubt he makes it through the year.

And Reich is an unproven commodity in his role........

Flame away if you will but lets revisit this in December/January and I'll be glad to eat crow if I'm wrong about this.

Because they don’t want to get their hopes up.

If the team sucks, it’s what they expected so no big deal.

If the team is good, then that’s great!

win-win for their mental state.

I get it.

Idk if telling ourselves that everything sucks is a win for our mental state but people will process how they process

Yeah, I had that attitude going into 2015 and expected the team to lose every week.

Because of that, I didn’t enjoy that year as much as I could have.

I’m hopeful until the 3rd game. That’s usually how long it takes to know if a team is really bad or not.

Reich's low is from his season where he only coached 9 games and went 3-5-1 with his GM forcing him to bench his starting QB his final two games.  Please correct your "data" to reflect full seasons for wins/losses.

Reich as HC

2018 10-6

2019 7-9 (his worst season Luck retired before season started)

2020 11-5

2021 9-8

2022 3-5-1 (didn't finish)

-So coaching a FULL season his WORST and ONLY loosing season would be 2019 the year his franchise QB randomly retired before the season started.

Just providing some context for this troll account.  Data without context doesn't always tell the full story.

Yep. 3 was his low. He got fired. Just like Rivera did during the season. I'm sure if we favored you and your defense of Reich's worst season while finding reasons to say Rivera would not have had a better season, we could toss in 3 wins for Reich, right? Of course not. You want to be fair and favor Reich. Let's just extrapolate because that wouldn't skew anything, right? Let's be nice an do that giving him 1 more win for 12 games. So, you don't get all teary eyed I'll throw in the 0.125 extra - 4.125 wins on the season for fairness with 12 games played. No way Reich would have led that Colts team to a 4-12-1 season.

All the numbers were accurate and fair because 2 coaches were fired and should be penalized for not completing a season. Not excuses as to someone else being to blame for them losing their jobs for not winning. I still don't see 12 and 15 win seasons on that list for his first 5 seasons. Do we give the other coaches breaks too for the player problems they had and couldn't correct?  No you don't.

That should make you happy. I wouldn't expect you to defend Rivera for me giving him his lowest win total for his fired season. Why would you do that? How about you use some actual stats instead of listing his 5 years with no championships and hoping people see two 10+ win seasons and think the other coaches couldn't do better in their first 5 years in the NFL. Don't do a side by side, because Reich will be behind the other two.

Nah...

I like to talk about football. I don't give a sh-t about attention from internet strangers.

Our friend you quoted there though? He's a troll, same guy that was pimping the idea that he had inside knowledge of the Watson trade and we were still getting him despite it being reported that his trade to Cleveland was official.

People who make up sh-t like that...those are the attention whores.
