I think he took a pretty substantial paycut this offseason too

For his size he's very fast and the Panthers staff clocks him with some kind of speed radar gun. He had a couple of bad drops last season, but when you're not targeted much a drop or two can make you look worse than you are. His run blocking gives me aids.

We'll see. It will be tough to get targets behind Hurst and the other receiving options. He could play well in his spot duties and end up with little production.

He didnt start playing ball until mid-high school right? Hes one of the super athletic people that benefits from genes and football picked him.

I liked his talent coming into the draft and he had a promising rookie year for a mid-late round pick. My hope is that there's significantly more talent on this roster than we thought because the coaching was even worse than we thought.

Nah, he still has bad hands. He drops as many as he catches.  He's too unreliable as a pass catcher.

In Steve Smiths podcast he said Ian is still the same player he always has been. Will show flashes, makes a great play then drops the next pass. Smitty also said that whenever the team signs a player in the same draft class as you (Hayden Hurst) you better start playing better

Probably not. It's pretty amazing the team has hung on to him so long.

He's excellent at run blocking. He paved the way for several big runs against the Lions and was the lead blocker on multiple 20-plus yard runs.

I will say when he does catch the ball he's looking for a dude to pop on. LOL.

Didn't know that.  To me, that says he has something to prove.
