I want to see the lines do their respective jobs. I was incredibly disappointed in both versus the Jets.

Here's a guy that's supposed to be a physical stud and can't disengage from a defender to make the catch.  If he had disengaged and made the out cut.  Young would have hit him on the numbers.  A good pass but a bad route.

I hope we figure out a way to get him the ball, but he has to work on being a better receiver and not just a gadget play player.

 

That wasn’t the issue at all….. his issue was that he didn’t run the right depth of his route. He went too deep. The QB School broke that down in a neighboring thread

Yeah, he didn't even really start his break back to where the pass was going to be when the ball went sailing by.  I forget who the receiver was on the other side of the field, but he ran a similar pattern but did cut it off sooner.  The QB School was a very good thorough breakdown of that pass and his others.

For me, I would like to see the OL act like they have met at least once before they took the field, some deeper passes (not necessarily bombs, but something beyond the underneath stuff), and some improvement against the run on defense.

Some sustained drives on offense would be nice.

Look like an NFL football team on both sides of the ball.  ( a place kicker that is in on more than on play all day.. like extra points, field goals etc )

The OL and that's all I care about.  If they do not drastically improve, I wouldn't even play Young and let Dalton take the beating until they can remember how to block.  The OL play was atrocious.

Yeah Smith even mentioned it during the game. Stated Shenault needs to know where that first down marker is and not take his route that deep.

Properly critiquing the pass rush I think is going to be dependent upon whether Burns and/or Houston play tomorrow.  Ideally we'd have enough depth not to have to rely on them, but still it's very hard to properly evaluate your pass rush when you're missing your two best pass rushers (one of them being arguably the best player on your entire roster).

O-line for sure is fair game and something I think we'll all be keying in on.
