Ian Thomas placed on IR

Per @TheSpecialJuan and panthers.com. He may or may not be missed depending on asking his family or a fan of the panthers.

CHARLOTTE — The Panthers had an injury lead to a roster move Saturday, and for a change, it wasn't in the secondary.

The team placed tight end Ian Thomas on injured reserve Saturday because of a calf injury.

Thomas was added to the injury report Friday.

The veteran tight end has two catches for 36 yards this season, but his value has been as a blocker in the run game throughout his career.

To fill the roster spot, they activated tight end Stephen Sullivan from injured reserve. He's practiced the last two weeks and was a full participant in Friday's practice. He was needed this week, since tight end Giovanni Ricci was already ruled out with a shoulder injury, leaving just Hayden Hurst and Tommy Tremble there.

He will be released next year and we will save 3mil. Don’t be mad at him he fleeced our front office.  That’s on them. Never showed them much and still got a decent contract. Even when he’s back we should give all the snaps to Hurst and Tremble who will be on the roster next year.

Fleeced? Or Rhule and Fitt are idiots.

    • FLA showed everyone it’s not about superstars. they bullied the best line in the NHL into obscurity. they played hard, were in the right positions, and ran over everything that got in their way.
    • That’s really not what you said and when I even expressed doubt as to your intentions with the post you doubled down and remained unclear on whether you were trying to drag Dean Smith for whatever reason. You just got the facts wrong, which if you don’t follow the local college programs like you say then maybe you just were mistaken and thought Smith didn’t win championships or have legit superstars, and that is ok, but you just doubled down when my first post was more corrective than anything. I’m not sure what you expect posting objectively false things like “RBA has a lot of wins with nothing to show for it like Dean Smith” (paraphrasing) on a message board with plenty of UNC fans. I’m not taking it as a personal affront, we can agree to disagree, Dean Smith’s legacy fortunately will not be affected by this conversation. Screw the (Florida) Panthers?
    • Bring in the free agents and trades.  Florida is the best team and unless Tulsky makes it happen, it’s more of the same…which isn’t bad…but it’s time to win a goddamn cup.
