Like watching Teddy all over again, but somehow even worse.

It's way worse because of the investment. We overpaid Teddy but other than that we weren't really tied to him as we proved when he was cut after one season and the move didn't tie our hands in the future investing future draft picks. We went ALL IN on Bryce Young and Teddy is starting to look like his ceiling.

Probably unpopular. Probably irrational. Probably dumb:

But I don’t want to watch Bryce anymore. I just don’t care.

Even when he “plays well” it’s just boring, dunk dunk, “efficient”. It’s very passive and every pass feels like a “settle for” type of pass.

There’s just zero wow. Zero balls.

This is the most apathetic I’ve felt as a fan.

This is where I’m at. I’ve seen nothing that suggests he’ll cap out as anything other than an Alex Smith at best. And for a #1 pick in 2023 that’s outright embarrasing

Yeah. And to be clear, I don’t want to put that all on him. From top to bottom of the organization, what we were sold, vs what we ended up with…I’m just stunned.

For the first time in my life, I just don’t like football anymore. This organization did a number on my fandom. I’m not even sad anymore. I just barely care.

I’m still here though. So my fandom isn’t entirely gone yet. But it’s hanging on by the thinnest of threads.

62.8% Completions

17 Passing Touchdowns

15 Interceptions

3315 Passing Yards ( 195 per game )

287 Rushing Yards ( 17 per game )

We don’t have a first round pick next year, we aren’t bringing in a big WR free agent and we aren’t making a trade for a top tier one. We have already switched playcallers and the offense has gotten worse. If Frank gets fired Bryce will be another rookie QB who gets a year wasted and then basically be a rookie again in year 2 with a new coach and a new system.

The hell do we do to get better next year and support him?

Where are you getting those stats? If BY had 15 interceptions he would be the worst QB in the league the next highest one has 9.

Bryce has 7 interceptions on the season.

The offense doesn't function. The move was to trade Burns for two 1sts and a second, and unload ALL defensive vets who are, will eventually be, pricey. CMC comes off the books, and you load up the offense with everything you've got. Fitt didn't make the trade, so now we have to make moves in free agency.

The only thing that matters next off season is the offense. We can't evaluate Young if he's surrounded by a bad offense. Burns is irrelevant so long as the offense on the field is totally incompetent. A sack every other game from Burns means absolutely nothing whatsoever. Burns is the icing on the cake for a "win now" team that has an open Super Bowl window.

We're facing a critical situation. Right now we're the worst team in the NFL thanks to Fitt, or if you prefer, Tepper. We're rock bottom due to way too many roster building mistakes, but things CAN get much worse. Young has been battered and humiliated all season, but he's not PTSD ruined completely yet. If we don't fix this offense in the off season, then Young is going to be completely traumatized and ruined beyond repair.

Priority #1 - We must retool the o-line to allow for better pass protection.

Proirty #2 - We must have at least one dominant pass catcher added to the roster, preferably #1 WR.

1 and 2 must happen no matter the cost. I don't care who we trade on defense.

Priority #3 - Thomas Brown must be fired. He is the worst OC the Panthers have ever had by a long shot. It's not even close. We run the worst plays I've even seen since the 1990s.

I think I’ve gotten to the same place. This roster is so gutted it’s ridiculous. We feel so far from contending that I’m apathetic as well. It hurts way more because the huddle drafting and trading would easily have a much better team. So many obvious choices and they were all done wrong. We just lost to two bottom tier teams, both of which are on their backup QBs. I honestly don’t see ya competing with the current staff and if we let them go we’ve already mortgaged our future picks missing a 1st and 2nd in the next two years that will likely both be at the top of both rounds. Best case is maybe we can compete in 2027/2028 if we get the right folks.

It feels like 2011 except that we traded Steve Smith and Greg Olsen, we don’t have the pick to get Luke and we took Gabbert instead of Cam. I don’t want to watch 5 years of that, but here we are. SMH.
