Never Should Have Happened

Young excells at the RPO style offense he ran at Alabama.

Reich runs a boring version of pro style offense.  Stand in the pocket and pick apart a defense.

MCCown knows the pro style offense but is clueless on RPO.

These were the wrong choices for Bryce Young from the get go.

When Tepper hired Reich, he tossed out the possibility of an RPO offense.

This is why you let the coach pick the QB he knows can run his offense.

Once Bryce was picked, Reichs days were numbered.

Firing Reich now so Bryce can be pair with a coach better suited to put in an offense to take full

advantage of his skillset was the right call.

Yesterday during the Vikings game, the commentators talked about how well they had changed and adapted the offense to their new QB, making sure it matches his strengths. That’s what a good coach does.

Those teams scored a combined 1 TD in that game

You are correct, my bad. Adapting your system to your QB is not a good idea. I don’t know what I was thinking.

The Panthers sh*t out so much bloody diarrhea on the field that our fans are now looking at the poop teams as examples for how to develop a QB.

They both beat us this year. Hell, the Bears beat us with an undrafted FA rookie at QB who played D2 college football.

Beating the 2023 Panthers is not an achievement by any metric or stretch of the imagination, and in my honest opinion all wins by teams that played the Panthers this season should be stricken from the record. This team shouldn’t even exist.

I’m sure this is what Tepper is putting out there to make the job seem attractive for the next coach. “See, Bryce is fine, it’s just that the last guy didn’t play to his strengths. Come in here and install an RPO scheme and everything will be great.”

Not saying Reich was good but I’d be careful believing any sudden revelations coming out about why he failed at his job, especially if those things tend to give the first overall pick a blank slate. He still has a lot to prove and the jury is very much out on whether he’s even an NFL starter, much less a guy who can lead you to titles.

That Alabama offense is working wonders up in NE right?

It doesnt really matter what offense we put Bryce in. We could cater to him and put him in rpo with an all-pro line, the best you could get from him is QB play you should expect from a good backup. Thats not what you want from a #1 overall QB that you traded so much more. He should be elite, but he isnt and never will be.

    • Well bois, we gave the Devils their due! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery... The jersey boys have been trying to jack our steeze for a few years now. They've followed our blueprints and studied our tape. Every offseason, they pounce on our sloppy seconds in a Newark minute. Quick with the puck, ferocious on the forecheck and stifling team defense. Down to the colors, this is this closest we'll come to having to play ourselves in Ole Stanley's Hockey Hoedown. As the postseason began, Rod stood flexing in the gym mirror and saw this guy staring back from the void... (Shutters) When beating us at our game didn't work, Timo and the Tri-State Trash tried to tango instead. Outside of a bitchass cheapshot on Freddie, that poo didn't work either. Their goon squad was getting wrecked by our bantam weights. As much as we all wanted to see Svechy or Staal Bunyan literally break someone in half after the Great Dane went down, they didnt need to. Our munchkins were monsters! Jarvis obliterating giants at the blue line, Logan laying the Stank on dudes twice his size and Blakers blasting Timo into next season. It was beautiful to see! (Side note: Does JBlo wear lead weights under his pads? 170lbs shouldn't be able to hit that hard!) We closed it out in 5, for the gentleman's sweep. Only team in the league to win a series in each of the past 7(?) seasons! And, this was supposed to be a rebuilding year... Onto the awards: Key To The Series : 6 for 19 - .316% IT FINALLY WORKED!!! MVP : 16/180 g/s - .911 save% - 2.53 gaa Seriously, without this dude, we would've won in 3! (Trust me bro) 3rd Star : 6/94 g/s - .936 save % - 1.59 gaa The Great Dane   2nd Star : 3 g - 5 a - +1 - 20:38 toi/g - 18 hits - 3 bs - 58.1% fo 3 PP goals and the 2OT series winning goal! WOOAAAHHH NELLY!!!!   And, your 1st Star of the series : 5 g - 1 a - +3 - 16:48 toi/g - 16 hits - 1 bs - 1 tk - 50% fo Zero, I repeat, zero penalty minutes for the series! MISSSTAAAHHH SVEEECHNIKOOOV!!!!!! Onto The Next: Now, we wait for the Habs to make it a nasty 7 game slog, while we recuperate. And, hopefully, get Nikishin, and some of the other black aces some real peactice time. We are gonna need those guys at some point. Because, if you think the Devils were dirty, hoooo boy, wait till you see what's next...
    • I don’t watch college football anymore (used to be Stanford STH but meh), but my wife is Hawaiian and her favorite color is purple, so I guess I knew Tet was my new favorite player to root for when he came out in a purple suit and lei and threw up the Shaka.
