Carolina Definitely Chose the Wrong QB

Most of the backups were better too so that's more fun.

And if a team is going to hope a QB can carry the entire offense they might want to actually draft someone with physical talent that can see the field. Real NFL rocket science stuff right there.

Stroud was my preference going into the draft and still was my preference on draft night. Not sure how anyone watched that UGA game and could come away with a different opinion.

I coped by telling myself whatever QB our "all-star" coaching staff believed in was good enough for me and would support either.

Just lol in hindsight.

I am now coping further that it's all Slowik and he's my new number 2 choice for our next HC behind Harbaugh even ahead of Ben Johnson.

I’m all on board with Slowik being our HC behind Johnson. I was excited when I got the notification of us trying to interview him

As soon as we traded up to #1, I think the consensus on this board was Stroud. Even Vegas had it as such. We had McCown calling him "Joe Burrow 2.0", having everybody geeked out that we were getting our own Joe Burrow. Until a month later when Tepper stuck his fat nose into the decision and ruined everything.

But yeah, like somebody said earlier, anybody that watched Stroud SHRED that historic Georgia D knew the kid was going to be something special. I'm keeping my receipts!!!

the Houston Texans almost had the #1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft not because they traded up for it like Carolina  but because yes they were arguably the worse team in the NFL whenever they selected CJ Stroud #2 overall...just saying

Where would carolina have been picking if they had left Rhule in place? A new coaching staff makes a huge difference. Should have left Rhule in place if you were gonna trade up to #1. Opposite of smart.

False.  Many had Young and Stroud at best even.  Most people were worried about size and durability but that turned into nothing.  Carolina sucks top to bottom and Young can’t overcome the entire train wreck in his rookie season.  This idea is really stupid actually

    • I was playing around with the ESPN playoff predictor and it shows if 49ers and Rams finish with same record, the Rams hold the tiebreaker.
    • This is my thinking as well. Seattle played as good as they could on defense and Panthers still had a chance until those back to back turnovers.  I don't think the Rams played particularly well in their game against us, alot things went our way in order to win.  Someone pointed out the Rams were bad on the east coast road games and Seattle has been the better road team but they just fought a hard contested game against the Panthers, and now they travel to San Fran this week for their biggest game of the season to determine the division and if they are the overall #1 seed in the NFC or will be traveling for the Wildcard weekend.  If they lose they then travel back cross the country to play a team they've just beaten two weeks ago, not saying they won't be favored against the Panthers but the energy of hosting our first playoff game in 10 years along with the get back effect of having just lost to this team could be huge.
    • I don’t know about shadowing and all that, but according to this, whatever we are doing is working
