definitely possible. canales is the best hope we have for something different, and even then we might have much of the same staff, esp. on defense and special teams.

best chance we have of making sure we are fully staffed is by putting a chain on the doors and not letting anyone out, because we sure won't have too many other than the most desperate trying to get in here.

hell, i'd even go so far as to say that we wouldn't be able to upgrade any position except HC and maybe OC (if Canales brought his own guy in). Not that the guys we still have employed are spectacular at their jobs, it's just that we wouldn't be able to get anyone better in here.

My sources have told me nobody is willing to coach this team and therefore playcalling duties will be left up to AI. As far as game planning and practice goes I was told it will be "left up to the few players willing to play to get themselves ready as they see fit." I'm also told all concessions will be closed at BOA and vending machines put in place due to the fact that NOBODY is willing to work for this organization. We moved to turf because groundskeepers were unwilling to work anymore and Tepper wouldn't commit to mowing the field himself.

I would get canales and can probably get a decent pay then give Evero a big pay bump to keep him happy as DC.

in theory I would get Vrabel.  In reality, Vrabel ain't coming.  Why would he.

I thought the job was an unattractive as it got when it opened.  I think it is becoming less attractive by the day.  That's why I think a nightmare has potential to really be cooking up here.   Which is really going to favor the leftovers from season 1 of Game of Panthers.

yeah well to start with there is probably no head coaching candidates willing to come to Carolina & design an offense specifically for just the sole purpose of trying to fix someone that they already know is going to be a bust no matter what they design  .& then no 1st round pick & no LT with a below average oL & no WR besides AT  & Chubba Hubbard is basically all you have at RB & at TE well  yeah well & then on top of all that David Tepper's continous non stop meddling asking you stupid questions like why can't you fix Bryce Young's footwork & nevermind that he can't throw the ball with any accuracy past 12 yards or run the offense from under center.

& then moreover Ejiro Evero if not promoted to HC this season & stays on for another season at DC then more than likely at the conclusion of next season someone will hire him as their next HC

I already stated in another thread I could see Morgan as GM and Evero as head coach.

The line of thinking is no up and comer would see this a desirable landing spot and certainly wouldn't choose it over other opportunities out there or even staying put.

Then it also makes sense for Morgan and Evero, as they weren't going to be offered these promotions elsewhere. They get a shot to go out and prove themselves. If it fails miserably, then we can blow it up all over again in a year or 2 max. By this time the new regime would at least be given a chance to come in with all draft capital and no commitment to Bryce Young.

The AI can't be much worse than the playcallers from this season and might actually call a play or two like this,

    • How did this “innovative” narrative start with Canales? Just because he’s young? He truly wants to run the ball and nothing Tampa did last year was all that creative. Mike Evans ability to win 1 on 1 does wonders for an offense as a whole
    • Initially, I wanted Stroud but I thought the trade up meant that, whoever they chose, it was for a reason.  There was no pressure to do anything for the entire scouting team to do other than investigate every aspect of the top 3 candidates.  Stroud had his question marks, and I think it is possible that he falters this year.  Bryce had a much worse situation here in Carolina because we neglected the OL, traded our #1 WR, did not pick WRs well in the draft, traded our pro bowl RB, and seem to disregard the TE position altogether.  Bozeman was not a good fit and we relied on an improved OL in 2022 to suggest that we were set there when we were far from it.  Fitterer had no vision, no grasp of talent, and everyone in the front office and on the coaching staff were pretending to be gurus.  Our coaching staff was a group of men earning a lifetime achievement paycheck.  It all goes back to the years of neglect for the OL.  My theory?  If Stroud had come to Carolina, he would be as mocked and ridiculed as Bryce Young.   No, he does not have a cannon.  Chad Pennington was a weak-armed QB who had success and would have been even better if it were not for injuries.  Smarts is important at QB, and so are mechanics.  Before you can address Young's mechanics, he needs an OL, Running game, and weapons. We were not really able to run play action from under center for a few reasons--play action is not effective when you have to pass the ball--other than that, the QB must turn his back to the LOS for about 1.5 seconds.  When the QB has less than 2.5 seconds to pass the ball, that eliminates that part of the play book.  Heck, even the run option is minimized when there is immediate facial pressure.  SO those who want to talk about happy feet, bouncing, etc--they are symptoms of the problem, not the problem.  A weak arm?  Well, Young's arm is between Chad Pennington and Joe Montana--closer to Joe.  His are is not as weak as some think--but he has issues with the deep ball. When you are reacting to the defense and quickly have to pass, then that takes away the strength because you don't have the base to get power behind it.  I still wish we had taken Stroud, but we have Young and if you toss him out before giving him support, you are not wise, unsmart, not unfoolish, and rather elite in your failure to attain mediocrity.  Expect growth.  How much? Nobody knows.
